Our stay at Catriona was just perfect. The cottage is more like a palace, very comfortable and offering us a real feeling of a true home. The welcoming from Catriona was warm and we even found a bottle of vine, bread, jam, fresh eggs and some small cakes on the kitchen table. The cottage is offering all you can possibly need and Catriona is just behind the corner prepared to help. The worse the weather got outside, the better we felt inside. Thank you very much for a nice stay, Catriona!
We could not have found a better cottage to stay in! Catriona was such a lovely hostess. We arrived to find a bottle of wine, fresh eggs, butter, jam, bread and a cake with a "16" on top! (My son had just turned 16. So sweet!) The cottage is just around the corner from the local pub, post, gas and cost cutters. A short hour and a half car ride to the coast (Giants Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, Dunluce Castle, etc.). Also, downtown Omagh is a short ride for groceries, restaurants, bars, banks and coffee shops. Could not have asked for more!!!
This is a little piece of heaven!! What a beautiful cottage, it was like stepping into a picture postcard. The hens in their coop, the lamb eating the daffodils, the bunnies - all make for a magical experience. The cottage is super comfortable and gorgeous!! We loved the roll top bath, the French country style kitchen, the cosy sitting room... everything really! Catriona is very friendly and she went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Thanks so much for the bottle of wine, bread and sweet treats you left for us. We can't wait to come back and stay in this cottage again!
Hawthorne Cottage more than exceeded our expectations. The cottage is very spacious and the interiors are perfect--looks as though it could be featured in a magazine. The Mc Cullagh family was so kind. Catriona’s son showed us around the cottage and Catriona was away, so she kindly greeted me over the phone. Nearby is their own pub and shop where Martin joined us for a chat over tea and toasties. We felt our experience was very genuine---we were so warmly welcomed by the community and family. Not only were they the perfect hosts, but there were so many other things that made our experience exceptional. The Hawthorne Cottage is nestled in the beautiful Sperrin Mountains; in the backyard you’ll find bunnies, chickens, and a lamb! Catriona made a fire for us, left delicious home-made desert bars, milk, butter, bread, and homemade jam. We couldn’t have asked for a better accommodation or host. I am so grateful for experiences like this and thankful to Catriona who goes above and beyond for all of her guests.
We had a wonderful time at Catriona's cottage! I could have moed in and stayed forever. Loved the peat fireplace and the lovely country kitchen. We were in Ireland for my husband's 50th and we were greeted with a birthday cake and a "50" candle, bottle of wine, fresh eggs, bread and butter. The cottage was walking distance to a grocer and a terrific pub with music. I have already recommended the cottage to a friend visiting next fall.
Take the time to spend time in the Sperrin Mountains and this lovely cottage!
What a fabulous home away from home!! The cottage is beautiful, and had everything we could possibly want to make our stay comfortable. Catriona and family were extraordinarily welcoming; milk, eggs, homemade bread and other treats were waiting for us when we got there, and Catriona phoned ahead to the local pub to have our order ready when we got there (we were tired and jetlagged). The area is lovely; we did day trips to Belfast, the Antrim coast, and Glenveagh National Park, and wish we had had more time to explore the Sperrins. Thank you, Catriona, for making our vacation so enjoyable!!

What an incredibly wonderful experience to have three days in this immaculate and well designed cottage. This was truly first class in every way. The surroundings were picturesque - anywhere we walked, we were overwhelmed by the greenery, the animals, and the friendliness of the community. We also cannot emphasize enough the warm and welcoming hospitality of Catriona and Martin.
Our time at the Cosy Country Cottage in Omagh was a five star experience! You never know what to expect when you book a stay over the internet, but Catriona's Cosy Cottage surpassed all our expectations. The cottage is as cozy as it looks. It is sparkling clean and fully updated, a truly charming experience! We were greeted by a simply decorated table with fresh baked bread, eggs, not to mention homemade jelly and sweets! We even ventured out to the hen house to pick up some fresh morning eggs! A wonderful pub and grocery store all within walking distance. We would go back in a minute! Well done Catriona!
