About this listing

The space

Penthouse condo in the historic '30s, with a spacious private terrace and shared garden. Completely renovated, on two (website hidden), stereo, dishwasher, washing machine, internet ADSL wiFi 24/24. In a quiet but lively area, near the University "La Sapienza", close to Villa Borghese, near the Aurelian Wall and the historic center. An island of quiet in the city, striking from the architectural point of view, where you can still find a way of life on a human scale. Well served by numerous bus and underground line B (stop Tiburtina or Piazza Bologna), the apartment is in a typical neighborhood, full of small food shops and crafts, and evening comes alive with bars, pubs and restaurants. A few minutes walk, you can go shopping in the quaint market town of hedged via Catania. Not far away, every second Sunday of the month, the open market at Porta Pia offers furniture, silver and objects of antiquarian books, prints and collectibles.

We stayed in Sara`s apartment for a period of 6 weeks. The cozy and clean flat, affectionately renovated (f.e. dragonfly wallpaper), is spacious for two persons. Fast web wifi and a large TV are available as well as all facilities for a long-term stay. We enjoyed very much the roof terrace for lunch or dinner (especially in the season of September/October) in the calm and trimly "condominio". Some fitness is required, as an elevator is missing (70 steps). We love the non-touristic area near Piazza Bologna which offers a huge range of bars, restaurants, shops and other facilities. Sara is a perfect host, competent and lovable, well informed about interesting cultural events and always ready to help. The communication with her - mostly via SMS - was excellent. We spent a great time in Rome and highly recommend the host as well as the place. Stefanie & Albert

This is a beautiful apartment in a residential area close to the university that we can thoroughly recommend! The flat was very clean and had everything we needed. Shops and metro are within a few minutes walking distance. All communication with Sara was fast and uncomplicated.

We rented this wonderful place 2 years ago for a 2-month-period and came back last week for a long weekend. We felt very welcome both times thanks to our wonderful host Sara. The apartment feels like a peaceful oasis in this lively and authentic neighborhood off the tourist track. The beautiful park of Villa Torlonia is in a 15 minutes walking distance. Love this place, will be back, thank you Sara! Iris, Bjoern with little Siri & Ada

My BF and I spent 4 days in Rome and stayed at Sara's wonderful apartment. The apartment is close to Tiburtina station (5 min walking ) which is convenient when coming from Fiumicino airport as there is direct train. The apartment is also very close to Bologna metro so just a few metro stops will take you to Coliseum The apartment is very big and is on a quite street, so, no prob with sleeping. There is a nice bar for going for drinks just at the entrance to the house area. Bear in mind that metro is only open till 21:30, so, we were getting back by taxi which is around 15eur from Barberini. Sara is very friendly and responding very fast to all the queries :-) Thank you Sara! We would recommend to stay at Sara's place!

We loved the apartment! It is very elegant, with great atmosphere and nice location. (The host description says it all.) There is a nice library; almost all books are in Italian, but you might still enjoy flipping through the renowned guidebooks to all parts of Italy — including Rome. If you're into architecture, you'd like the layout — the upper floor is a very interesting solution. (But don't worry, the bedroom is on the lower floor in a separate room.) There are lots of small things which give this apartment a personal feel. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, although, admittedly, we didn't use it much because we spent the whole day outside. There're lots of small useful appliances (iron, iron board, kettle, etc.) I would definitely recommend this place for staying in Rome.

What a fantastic apartment, just what I needed. I wont hesitate to make this my first choice on my next business trip to Rome. Thanks again Sara for all your help and being so flexible (especially with my very late arrival)

We had a wonderful holiday in Sara's place. The apartment is comfortable and clean, with a great location in a true Roman neighbourhood in relaxed atmosphere. It is close to Bologna square and Tiburtina station with excellent public transport. We especially enjoyed the huge terrace and the cafeteria at the next corner. I can only recommend this apartment.
