The Space

My place is located in the heart of Amsterdam's most popular and most comfortable neighborhood, the pijp, and you would get the entire place for yourself (85m2). It is a well-designed apartment located close to the Museumplein (Van Gogh museum, Rijksmuseum and Stedelijk Museum), the famous Leidseplein and very close to the Heinekenplein. The apartment is perfectly positioned between Amsterdam’s picturesque canal belt and the best bars and restaurants the city has to offer.

2 typical city bikes for your use
2 museum passes
2 bedrooms
Modern kitchen
Modern bathroom
Full balcony with BBQ
Apple TV
Nespresso Coffee machine
Iron + ironing board on....

EVERYTHING YOU NEED : My place has most of the things you really want for your stay in Amsterdam : high-speed WiFi internet, iPhone/MP3 stereo connections for the sound system, Apple TV, washing machine/dryer, cable TV, a Nespresso coffee machine, a hairdryer, and I have 2 authentic Amsterdam city bicycles for your unlimited use. Trust me, the bike is the way to explore this amazing city.

FREE MUSEUMS AND NO WAIT : I have 2 museum passes for you to use – this allows you to get in to just about all museums for free! For instance, if you go to the Rijksmuseum and the van Gogh museum with a friend, normally, that would cost you 60 Euros – with these passes, it would be free, and on top of that, you are allowed to skip the very long queue!

!!!Please be aware that if you like to skip the very long queue at The Anne Frank House as well you have to reserve online which costs you only 0,50 euro cent!!!Please go to their website, buy online tickets and use the the option "Museum jaarkaart".

MODERN KITCHEN: The apartment features a very modern and complete kitchen with refrigerator, microwave/oven, dishwasher, grill and modern stovetop – it is a very comfortable kitchen to cook in. There is also a large supermarket very close by, and of course, the famous Albert Cuyp market is within 300 meters.

COMFORTABLE BEDROOM: The master bedroom is very spacious and the bed is extremely large (2.0m x 1.80m), soft and comfortable. The apartment is very well lit by natural light (especially in the mornings) and while smoking inside is not permitted, there is a full length balcony with doors from both bedrooms, where you can go outside, hangout and enjoy the peaceful courtyard, and smoke whatever you like. There is also a small BBQ if you would like to do some outdoor grilling. Do note that the apartment is on the 3rd floor so that means lots of light, but also 3 flights of stairs -- fortunately they are not very steep and there are nice solid railings.

LUXURIOUS BATHROOM: The bathroom has a very large and new bathtub and a luxurious rainshower. Clean sheets and towels are all included

AMAZING NEIGHBORHOOD: De Pijp, known as Amsterdam's Quartier Latin, situated in the southern part of Amsterdam and a short tram ride (take tram 16, 24, or 25 from Dam Square) away from the bustle in the streets of central Amsterdam, is one of the most cosmopolitan and vibrant districts of Amsterdam. The inhabitants, the narrow streets, the many cafes and restaurants and the atmosphere of De Pijp are all reminiscent of the famous Parisian students' quarter. If this neighborhood appeals to you, and you want to stay in a modern but very comfortable apartment in the heart of the pijp, this is the place to stay for you!

COMPLETE GUIDEBOOK: A guide to the house and neighborhood will be provided -- I will walk you through it when you arrive

PLEASE NOTE : If you need to check in to the apartment after 9PM, this is possible, but there is an additional cost of 25 Euros.

I will personally welcome you and am at your disposal throughout your stay. My check in times are extremely flexible. You will have a 2012 Amsterdam guidebook at your disposal and I will be able to help with suggestions depending on what you like

  • Well this is my third trip to Amsterdam for an extended stay at Fred's place, and it was excellent as usual. I thoroughly enjoy staying there, and the neighborhood is awesome! Fred continues to be an excellent host and I totally recommend him!

  • We have been coming back to Amsterdam on a regular basis for several weeks at a time, and I wouldn't pick another place. It is great here at Fred's apartment in the Pijp and is very convenient to everything. Thanks Fred.

  • Fred's apartment is seriously your home away from home. It has everything - a homey feel, all the things you need to be comfortable. And the real plus is its location in the Pijp - a really quiet but cool area. Supermarkets, eateries and the Albert Cujp market are just there. The Museum section is very close and the Dam is an easy walk (if you are used to walking). There are also two bikes for the authentic Amsterdam experience. Unfortunately, Fred wasn't around to welcome us but Renée was fantastic.

  • Fred was a fantastic host - I felt welcomed and well situated upon arrival, museum and tram passes in hand. The museum passes not only got us in everywhere, but when they had just closed the line end of day to the public at Van Gogh Museum, they let us in anyway because we had this. The apartment is spotless, set-up to move in, and looks just like the photos in real life. It's also quite spacious, something I'd certainly consider living in if I was a resident. The location also was excellent - in a very cool neighborhood that's right on the edge of the museum area without feeling in it. Everything you need including a tram to Central Station is 2 blocks away. I highly recommend this experience.

  • This was the second time staying at Fred's place in the Pijp. His place was great, clean and ready to go. It is so conveniently located, that it made life so easy. There are so many restaurants, pubs and shops nearby, you don't need to look far to have something fun to do! Another great stay at Fred's place. He's great at communicating and getting everything ready for your stay. Thanks!

  • Fred is an excellent host and was extremely accommodating to me and my family. His place was awesome, clean and well appointed. He was so easy to communicate with and was extremely responsive to questions. One time, I couldn't figure out a light switch and a couple of other minor things, and he offered to come back and show me how to use them. When I arrived, Fred spent about an hour with me just going over things in the apartment, the neighborhood and getting around in general. He was so helpful and I am thankful for that. His place is excellent for both short-term and long-term visits and is right in the middle of the Pijp, which is a great Amsterdam neighborhood. Thanks!

  • Great stay in Fred's apartment. Location was perfect. Close enough to where we wanted to be, but far enough away from the action. De Pijp is a great neighborhood. The use of the bikes and museum passes literally saved us a couple hundred dollars. Also, a big plus for us was the great king size bed - a rare luxury when in Europe. I would rent again from Fred.
