The space
As a guest at The Windover, you will have complete access to the entire Lake front property and Private Beach! The expansive Lakeview yard boasts a park like setting and provides plenty of outdoor living space and outdoor activities , including a 9 hole disc golf set up in our vacant lot.
This over 3 1/2-acre property includes beautiful landscaping, large dining and grilling patio, fire pit, off living room deck with hot tub, sauna ,seating area with a retractable awning, plus additional viewing areas set up on the lakeside yard of the property and private beach.
The Windover property is situated on a private lane just off M63 N about 4 minutes from downtown St. Joseph. The location provides minimal vehicle traffic. There is also an additional open acre lot behind the property that spans the entire length of the lane which also provides an additional privacy buffer, in addition to being available for guests use and additional parking. The circle drive also provides guests with plenty of parking up to 4 vehicles. Weekly yard maintenance and seasonal spraying for mosquitos and ticks provided.
Private Beach and Beach Stairs
The beach at the Windover is 950’ of Lake Michigan frontage. The beach is accessible by a brand new stair system which consists of both wood and aluminum stairs. There are approximately 135 steps to the beach front and lake access. The stairs are set up in a series of sections as follows; Elevated Walkway, 60 steps, main landing and viewing platform, 40 steps, walkway, 20 steps storage platform, 15 steps to beach. See Pictures for reference. Please note stairs and swimming are use at your own risk. You should be in good physical health and maintain safety at all times when using stairs or swimming . Stairs are available year round when weather is permitting.

All bedrooms are appointed with luxurious bedding and beautiful decor, plenty of lighting, seating areas, Smart TV’s and Wi-Fi throughout. We also provide paper goods and cleaning products in the kitchen and bathrooms, as well as toiletries.
In addition to the outdoor living spaces at Windover do not forget to take advantage of the beautiful and breath-taking bluffs edge viewing platform at the end of the lane. The platform is adjacent to the properties driveway and located at the end of the private lane in the road area and is used as a viewing only space and picnic area by owners and guests of HIshores. This space is definitely a great place to view the bluff edge and take wonderful photos!
The property is also very close to many microbreweries, winery's, championship golf, shopping, dining and other lake activities.

Windover offers a fantastic Lake Views from all its indoor and outdoor living spaces. The pictures don’t begin to do the view justice. Whether you are enjoying a day relaxing on the deck listening to the sound of the lake, swimming or sunning on the beach, watching the sunset or just lounging on the deck watching the boats go by, or dining on the stone patio or maybe having that first morning cup of coffee on the porch, the lake is always there to captivate every moment. And even after the sun goes down the lake never disappoints. The night’s sky from the Fire Pit, Deck or Hot Tub is an absolutely incredible experience not to be missed.
Guests often enjoy the couple of Bald Eagles that are nesting close to the property. And don’t forget to keep a lookout for St. Joseph’s Shoreline and Lighthouse to the South, South Haven Shoreline to the North as well as Chicago’s Skyline can often be seen on clear days and nights. The views are absolutely amazing at the property.
Other things to note
The Windover property has one of the most expansive private beach and views around. From the bluffs edge of the property, you can see St. Joseph Pier to the South and South Haven Pier to the North. On clear nights not only do you see the beautiful display of stars in the nights sky, but you can also see the twinkling lights of Chicago’s skyline. Property is located on a shared lane which ends at the bluffs edge viewing deck and is only accessible by car by guests of the Windover.
