Interaction with Guests

We will provide all the useful information upon check-in regarding the neighborhood and the historical sites in general, being myself a tour leader do not hesitate to ask me questions about my city!

The Neighborhood

This beautiful apartment is located in a renewed building dated early 1900s, in the historical district named San Lorenzo. It occupies the early stretch of Tiburtina road (one of the historical ancienr Roman roads) starting from Termini railway station and ending at the Verano area. You can reach the Colosseum by walking downhill for less than 20 minutes!
Originally a working-class neighbourhood it has been a popular, left-oriented area. During WWII it was heavily bombed by Allied planes. Maria Montessori's first 3-6 age program was started in San Lorenzo in 1907. Today due to the vicinity of the La Sapienza University, it is increasingly assuming the character of a student and young artist district. Every evening, hundreds of young people descend on the area. Pizzerias, boutiques and other modern places are subsequently replacing the old popular workshops and small markets.
Close to the University La Sapienza, in the historically famous district of San Lorenzo, plenty of restaurants /pizzerias /discoes /bars /cafeterias /tobacconists /supermarkets /open air markets /chic and handcraft shops, very popular for night life yet very safe and lively.

Getting Around

You can reach the historical city centre by using the bus # 492 or # 71 to Corso st., Navona sq. Trevi fountain and the Vatican.
The nearest metro station is Vittorio Veneto line A toward Spanish Steps and Vatican city state.
You walk to the Coliseum and St. John in Lateran Cathedral within 20 minutes.
You can reach the apartment from Fiumicino airport by inquiring for a transfer, using the bus from the airport to Termini station or the Leonardo Express direct train and then walk for 10 minutes.
From Ciampino you can take bus Terravision to Termini station and then walk to the apartment.

Other Things to Note

Don't bring too heavy suit-cases as you will have to reach the 4th floor by climbing the stairs as there is NO elevator as it is an ancient historical building.
