Where you’ll be

Färgelanda N, Västra Götalands län, Sweden

If you want to hike and get out into the woods, you just have to tie up your boots- everything is outside the cottage knot. If you want to hike in wild nature on hiking trails, it is only a few kilometers to Kroppefjäll and Karolinerleden that starts near Järbo church. To Dalslands national park Tresticklan can be reached by car in about 45-50 min.
Ragneruds camping with nice swimming and hiking trails is located about 8 km south of us. There is also a restaurant, kiosk and mini golf.

If you are in the mood for some shopping, a visit to Laugar soap studio in Högsäter is well worth a visit. Here are handmade organic soaps and other nice things.
In Högsäter there is also the interior design store Dalsland Hem & Deli
and Elsa's sewing box, with its fine linen, and its furnishings.

Flea market and second hand can be found in several places, including in the Trail and
there is a large flea market and antique store a couple of miles north towards Ed in Tingvalla.

The cottage is well located for excursions in the countryside. Håverud and Upperud with the aqueduct and the Dalsland canal and the Dalsland Museum is a must, as is the artist collective Not Quite in Fengersfors. Do you drive a motorbike ? There are many nice, lovely curved roads in Dalsland, a must is of course Brudfjället between Håverud and Tisselskog!
