Five-bedroom house in a town in the Loire Valley 25kms WEST of Tours.
Langeais has a railway station, several restaurants and cafes and a chateau, all five minutes walk away.
Town has a great ambience, and there are many historic chateaux within 20 kms, including Villandry, Azay, Chinon and Usse.
House has English and French satellite TV and breakfast is included in the price of 60 euro per night. Price is 50 euro a night for lets of a week or longer from October to March.
Nestling between the forest and the Loire, backing onto a hillside peppered with troglodyte homes, the town of Langeais is at a cross-roads between the Châteaux trail and the 'route des vins." A crossing point over the Loire with an historic bridge, Langeais is popular both for the beauty of its landscapes and for its fine heritage.
A prestigious 15th century château, in which the union between Charles VIII and Anne of Brittany was sealed in 1491, makes Langeais a vital tourist attraction in the Loire Valley. This mediaeval fortress holds many marvels: one of the oldest square keeps in France, a working drawbridge, and a superb collection of tapestries and furniture...
A visit in Patrick's house is like ' tomato & chilly '
( a perfect jam, homemade by Chaun ), because sometimes it is really spicy and sometimes it is smooth ! All together, it is a perfect stay in Northern France under the influence of a very British way of life ! If you want to know more, go there by yourself and don't forget to buy the homemade jam of Chaun !
" sorry Chaun for my bad English and by the way : I need more of the jam, because the first glass is empty :-( " !
Our stay at Patrick's place was very nice. Unfortunately we did not have the chance to meet Patrick, but the place is gorgeous, located in an absolutely charming medieval town, and we had a great time dining in the garden and sharing a delicious breakfast with the other hosts!
Wunderbare Unterkunft mit sehr netten Vermietern. Sehr interessante Gespräche. Uns hat es gut gefallen.
An absolutely gorgeous place! We could not believe our eyes when we found ourselves in a place fit for a royal family - us eight cyclists from Russia. Had to take photos of each and every room, otherwise no one would believe us :) the hosts were especially friendly, we had fun chatting with them and the dogs are so cute! Breakfast was especially excellent, and the hosts also offered a lot of special treats! We wanted to stay another night and felt sad we had to move on.. All in all, a place I would especially recommend to visit, even if you are travelling miles away from Langeais!
Super accueil. Lieux splendides. Petit déjeuner excellent. Rien à redire, vraiment, nous sommes venues à 2 au cours d'un voyage à vélo et avons passé un excellent moment. Merci!

No better bnb anywhere! Superior hosts, incredible accomodations and easy acess to all areas of interest either by train, car or bike! For my first visit to Loire it could not have been a more oositive experience! Shaun and Patrick are the most amazing people and I was blessed to have connected with them. Definitely will be back!
Accueil chaleureux et ambiance joviale et décontractée.
Tout le monde papote avec tout le monde autour d'un verre :-)
Chambre impeccable. Tout est prévu jusq'au moindre détail.
Une halte mémorable!
It is very nice to stay in patrick's home. The atmosphere is warm and familial. The breakfast was wounderful with all people they stay in patricks house. The feeling, that you are wellcome, is my memory for this stay.
All the other reviews were spot on- we arrived and Shaun met us with a huge glass of wine- it was perfect after a long drive. The house is beautiful, peaceful, and authentic. It's a three minute walk into town, they will make reservations for you if you need at the amazing restaurants. It's close to everything in the area and a great home base. They were so accommodating to us, and we were travelling with a two-month old baby. I will say that this may not be the best place for children- but not because of the hosts! They are wonderful and made us feel at home! Just realize that a lot of guests are looking for a quiet trip so, squawking children could interrupt their peace. It's not a place to have kids running and screaming. The walls are thick for a 14th century farmhouse, but it's close living in a B&B. They were so patient with us. Also, the breakfast was delicious. Bottom line: I can't imagine a better stay at a better price with better people!
