The Space

We'd love to host you in our beautiful 4-bedroom, 1500 square foot, top floor Edwardian apartment. The entire flat is $400 a night (about $100 per room). When we are away we can combine any of the 4 rooms with special pricing. We discount for children and for stays of 6 nights or more. Dates when more than just the Garden Lovers Room is available:
June 2 - June 24
July 3 - July 14
July 27 - August 12

While our address is on Castro Street and is just a few doors down from where Harvey Milk lived and worked (where the movie was filmed), it is up a small hill that allows us to be central, but quiet.

The Family Room is our second largest bedroom at a full 140 square feet (14 square meters). With a Full Bed and Queen Convertible Sofa-Bed, antiques and enviable view you will feel both at home and fully a part of the San Francisco milieu, while being minutes to everything. The Bunk Room next to it with twin-size bunk beds can be added for another $75 a night.

We have four bedrooms available in our large 1500 square foot (140 square meter) top floor Edwardian flat. Please inquire about our other listings or for groups.

Interaction with Guests

If you rent the entire flat we will make sure a friend nearby is available to greet you and help if anything goes wrong. If renting a room while we are in town we are likely to invite you to join us for dinners, or to go out and even for our weekly Tuesday Night Game Night Party. We are very social and want to make you feel welcome in San Francisco.

The Neighborhood

Located on Castro Street between 19th and 20th Streets. Ours is a residential block, just two blocks from the center of the famed Castro District and its stores, restaurants, nightlife, grocery and 24-hr drug store, playground, and Muni underground train station. We're 3 blocks from Dolores Park, which is the best place to enjoy a sunny day in the city.

Getting around

The world-renowned Castro district is famous for Harvey Milk and Gay nightlife. But the locals know it as the heart of the city, situated at the perfect center. More than a dozen major transit lines run through in every direction, making the entire city an arms reach away. Some of the City's best restaurants, wine bars, parks, bakeries, murals and people watching are here.

  • We stayed for three nights (June 21-23) at Geoff and Craig's apartment on Castro street in San Francisco. The room we stayed in has a full bed and a sofa bed, which is adequate for us, a family of three with a 13-year-old daughter. The room apparently belongs to a young girl and it is not big enough to accommodate a full bed and a queen-sized sofa bed. So we found it quite cramped for comfort. It was hard moving around in the room and there was little space for our luggage. The room would be more suitable for two persons.

One day before we arrived, we received an email informing us that we could not check in until at least 6pm, which was quite upsetting. After spending more than 10 hours traveling from Boston to the apartment, we expected to be able to check in and have a little rest. Upon arrival at around 3pm, we met a male house cleaner who told us to leave while he cleaned the place. We almost have to beg to hang around in the living room until he finished cleaning. He did a pretty quick job cleaning up the place, leaving only partial roles of toilet paper in the shared restrooms.

Except for our bed room, other rooms in the house were great -- a full kitchen and a comfortable living room.

The location of the apartment was fantastic. We found the Castro neighborhood very lively and interesting. And it was pretty close to places of interest to us. Transportation was no problem.

    Response from Geoff And Craig:

My apologies Wasant, because you had made the reservation so last minute we were unable to get our regular cleaning people to prepare the room. The person who we used obviously did not do an adequate job and we won't be using again. My sincere apologies. As you can see from our other reviews, this is not typical for us.

  • We stayed at Geoff and Craigs place for 2 days last week. Had a great stay, and the location is very good.
Geoff and Craig were able to accomodate us with very short notice for which we are very grateful!

  • Geoff and Craig’s residence is very well located in San Francisco to explore the city (near the metro, tram and bus). You can access each strategic point of the city in less than 20 minutes (Union Square, Marina, Twin Peaks, Golden Gate Park and Haight St. for the Shopping, Presidio ...).
We thank Geoff for good information he has given us to prepare our trip.
    We recommend this residence.

  • A+ rating from me. Spent 3 nights with my friend from Australia. Beautiful old Victorian building, great location, comfy bed (for being an air mattress). My friend had an 11 pm flight, but our hosts were very flexible when it came to the checkout time.

    I'd recommend it to anyone.

  • Geoff and Craig were great hosts! I wish that we had to opportunity to meet, but were unable to. Geoff kept me well informed on activities, transportation, sights to see, how to get around and answered all my requests and questions very quickly. He checked on us during our stay to make sure everything was going well. The home was right in The Castro and had a WONDERFUL experience.

  • We stayed six nights at Geoff and Craig's, and it was great - fantastic location, the room was just as expected, and the other guests were really nice. Geoff and Craig weren't in town, but they called to check in and made sure we had everything we needed. It was an excellent experience!

  • Great place, and such great hosts. Geoff has very nice taste in restaurants, bars and culture and will happily guide you to everything you need and want. We had a great time staying with them.

  • The location is incredible: being right on Castro Street and only a few blocks from the Muni station on Market--IDEAL! The room looks in real life exactly like the pictures and the rest of the place is nicer. For 9 of the 10 days I stayed, I had it to myself, but the owners still made me feel welcome and supported me with lots of maps, activity guides, and personal suggestions for transportation, eating, etc. I cannot say anything negative about my stay there--except that the weather was slightly colder than Honolulu...if they could fix that, then I would be moving in with these guys--:)

  • It was a bad experience, the room was cold, the bed was uncomfortable, and the kids were loud, I wouldn't stay here again although it was in a good location
