Spacious one Bedroom apt in the hills of Echo Park, steps away from rustic Elysian Park -Great hikes and views of downtown LA. Echo Park is a happening neighborhood on the east side of LA where creative Angelinos call home.
Right near gourmet food shop: Cookbook, recently written up in the NYTimes. Great for picking up provisions for a quick meal or cheese, charcuterie and bread for aperitifs on the front patio at sunset.
Close to Silverlake, Hollywood, downtown LA, Pasadena, Glendale and Burbank. Easy access to highways the (phone number hidden) and 2.
The apartment was recently renovated with an open kitchen and breakfast bar, exposed beams and hard wood floors, it feels open and cozy, clean and private, a great retreat in the hills of LA.
- Private outdoor seating with a table and chairs in front garden.
- Super nice light all day. Sun pours in the afternoon.
- Fully equipped Kitchen
- Street parking available
Other Things to Note
The hot water heater for our apartment is located on the far side of the house upstairs, so it takes a minute for the hot water to run over.
- No smoking inside, new wood floors - no high heels or shoes that may scratch floors.
- There are two very sweet dogs (Coco & Zora) who live with our neighbors, whom we share the property with. I do not believe they should be of any concern.
- While we invite you to enjoy the property please no large parties or numerous guests.
Andrei was very responsive. Check in was easy. The house was lovely. I can see how you could get caught up staying in the house and chilling. Located in a super cool neighborhood with some nice views of downtown. You can even see the Hollywood sign from the top of the hill!
I loved being in the same neighborhood as my friend. A 10 minute walk down to a very hip coffee shop Chango. Enjoyed sitting on the side having a coffee and a bite to eat while getting the day started. From Chango, it's a 10 minute walk to Sunset where there are a lot of great places to eat. Enjoyed Fish Tacos at Senior Fish, Guisidos, and there was a nice taco stand on the corner of Echo Park Ave that served hard tacos (apparently not that easy to find). Had an excellent hamburger at Brite Spot. This place seems like a good breakfast joint too. We ended up doing brunch one morning at The Park, which is highly recommended. Most of the locals I spoke with praised this spot. Lastly, I'd been to Masa once before a few years ago. This time, had an awesome chicken sandwich. I know the next time I go I'll be trying the deep dish pizza.
I recommend stopping by Stories for browsing books and having a coffee. Also, Origami Vinyl has some great new and old releases. Not to mention the stores limited 7inch releases that I can't wait to listen to when I get home. One with a local Echo Park band and Wayne Coyne from the Flaming Lips. Another had Ariel Pink on it.
The night life in Echo Park is probably second to none. I'd been in Silver Lake, which is cool. However, Echo Park has the Echoplex which gets some of the best touring acts in the country. After we wrapped up our recording sessions, our favorite spot to hang out and toast to our new creation was Little Joy. We ended up there three different (website hidden) on Thursday spun funk, soul, and classic rock gems. Friday night was a bit more dancey, but not like the Short Stop, which was more of a young crowd. It reminded me of the spot I DJ in DC. Sunday night, there was a really cool band at Little Joy.
I highly recommend staying at Andrei's. I'll be looking into doing so when I return.
I'd definitely recommend this perfectly located and exceptionally stylish apartment. All the logistics were smooth and organized. We had complete privacy and it was great to relax in this charming space.
Super excellent location. Great walking if you like a hike! Very lovely place with excellent amenities. Highly recommend
The bed is a comfortable Queen-sized memory foam. The flat/apartment is nicely appointed. No TV. Bring your earplugs because the child upstairs wakes up early and the commotion upstairs is loud enough to wake you at 6am-7am. We didn't use the kitchen, but it looks like you could. No dining room. Think "large hotel room with kitchenette."
Thanks for the feed back. Ear plugs may be a good idea since the arrival of the new addition to the family upstairs. They're also looking into carpeting to help buffer the sound. The kitchen is definitely open to guest use. I'd like to think of our apartment as better then a 'large hotel' room though you're right there is no TV. Safe travels to you in the future !
The apartment in Echo Park was perfect for me. Great location because it was very close to my daughter's place. It was clean, pleasant surroundings, very comfortable bed. Because I literally only slept there, I can't say much about features such as kitchen, etc. The one thing I noticed was that there was very little available space to hang clothes or even get them out of suitcase. And I was told there were dogs upstairs. I barely noticed any sound coming from dogs, but little kids upstairs were up and about very early running back and forth. Despite that, I would definitely want to stay there again.
Andrei's house was perfect! Very comfortable, simple and friendly, and in a great (email hidden)ank you so much!
Andrei's apartment is just as seen in the photos. It was clean and nice, located on top of a hill in Echo Park. Easy street parking and the neighbourhood seemed safe. We had a good time at the apartment and Andrei was friendly and easy to communicate with.
Architect from Brooklyn, NY. Living with chef wife who is also from New York.
We travel a fair amount and would love to have someone look after our place and enjoy the great hill top location.
