Interaction with Guests
If just renting a room, I will likely be here. Parties of 6 or more, I usually stay elsewhere.
Its not a neighborhood; its the forest!

This is not a loud and lively party location.
Its fine to celebrate and have fun, but this is ultimately a quiet, natural setting, so needs to be treated as such.
This is my home, so strive to leave it in as good condition as when you arrived.
I rented Barry's property to celebrate my 30th birthday and had a total of 9 adults in our party and some dogs. Everyone had more than enough room to spread out, with 1 master bedroom upstairs and 3 separate bedrooms downstairs. There is also a den upstairs and downstairs. Kitchen was well stocked with cookware and utensils/spices and we definitely appreciated the dishwasher as we cooked all weekend! This is a great location for nature lovers as the property is literally inside a forest and so many trails nearby.
Barry is a very responsive and thoughtful host and checked in with me regularly to make sure we were comfortable during our stay.
The property was absolutely amazing. I hosted a birthday party here for a day with some friends and there was more than enough room for 14-16 people. The property was clean and Barry was attentive and answered all of my questions.
The owner was very fast to reply to our request, and although we were asking for a last minute reservation, and he was leaving for vacation, he went out of his way to prepare the place for us. He did his best to ensure that any concerns that we had were addressed and made sure that we were happy.
The cabin is in the middle of woods, with beautiful view of the hills. The cabin itself is very big, easily accommodating large groups, although it would definitely benefit from a bit of updating and renovation.
Barry was awesome. He greeted us at the door and welcomed us in with open arms. He was courteous, professional, understanding, and he was always responsive to any needs we had. We had to change the reservation on him and it was graciously dealt with in a reasonable time period. Also, the place was awesome. The neighborhood is a natural preserve where a true getaway is to be had... meaning no cell phone service. The wifi was very strong however, so if you plan on not completely being unplugged it's not a problem. The house itself also had an awesome kitchen for our needs and the sleep space was plentiful for our needs and more if needed. It was exactly as presented and more.
Barry is great and very accommodating. Each room has its own heater, great for those cold winter nights. The fireplace was especially nice and easy to keep going. The scenery is great; a nice thing to wake up to; just sitting on the deck and drinking coffee. Kitchen has almost everything you need to cook.
Overall a great new experience for us!
Barry is a very considerate and accommodating host. He was there on arrival to greet my friends and give us a rundown of what to do in the area. We had 3 days of awesome hikes and delicious food!
This place is in the woods with very few neighbors. This is the ideal place to explore the forest and chill out with a group of friends for a few days. No complaints from anyone in our group. Thanks Barry!
Barry was great. He was extremely welcoming and communicative through the whole process. The house was clean and tidy when we arrived it was great for all. We had some allergy suffers so he kept the cat hidden. Location wise was great for a short hike into the woodland state park area. If you like to cook (and we cooked Thanksgiving for 16), the kitchen is well stocked and double over a bonus!
