  • We couldn't be more happy with our stay at Eileens place than we are. It's lucky that we ended up there for our first weeks in DC.

  • Eileen and Lucian's place is lovely--exactly as listed! Its very well situated for exploring restaurants, nightlife, and so was perfect for catching up with friends while passing through the city. But its still a quiet street, and after a good night's sleep we woke up to breakfast and fresh coffee the next morning! Would definitely stay here again!

  • My mom and I stayed 7 nights in Eileen and Lucien's apartment in Washington and we can really recommend this place. Lucien and Eileen are very pleasant, helpful and welcoming people, and the apartment in Dorchester House is very nice and situated in a central position for sightseeing in Washington. The area seems pleasant and safe. Everything we needed for our stay was available, a nice big room with a fridge and a fine bathroom and kitchen. We enjoyed our stay in Washington very much and would definitely recommend Eileen and Lucien's place to anyone visiting DC.

  • This was really a last minute request but Eileen was fast getting back to me and all her positive reviews are spot on. Eileen was out of town but her husband Lucien greeted me downstairs and helped me with directions from the Metro stop. What really sold me was what Eileen wrote under house rules.
    Eileen wrote one word R E S P E C T!
    Her place is beautiful, clean..
My room was big with a desk, couch and tempurpedic bed and hard wood floors. Very quiet. Yup they offer an amenity bag. My room also had something every airbnb should have a mini fridge stocked with a few complimentary drinks. Really liked their bathroom with 2 shower heads felt like I was under a waterfall. And they are in an exquisite Art Deco building. I regret not having time to check out the roof. But hopefully I can stay here again if they'll have me.
The neighborhood is lovely in the day time but the streets are a little deserted late at night and my local friends strongly advised me not to walk back alone from an Adams Morgan bar and put me in a cab for safety. But I think that goes for cities in general.

  • I needed a place in Washington for one evening before an early breakfast meeting. Eileen responded by email right away and we worked out the details. The was my first Airbnb experience and now my standards are set very high! Eileen and Lucien were incredibly gracious,The room is large and comfortable, I slept like a baby! For those staying longer, there is a gym and laundry available in the building , and Eileen has supplied the room with brochures and maps of Washington, and a great little pack of shampoo, toothpaste, and soap for your stay. The apartment is very shiny and clean. I cannot recommend this home highly enough! I will be back!

  • We only stayed for one night in Eileen and Lucien's lovely apartment but had a wonderful experience. The apartment is charming and very well located between two metro stops and right by several buses; about a half hour walk downtown. They were both incredibly welcoming and graciously shared advice on how I could find a place to live and other matters regarding my upcoming move to D.C. All I can say is thank you for everything!

  • Such a great place! Eileen and Lucien really went out of their way to make me feel welcome - they are lovely and generous people. The room itself is great, and the location makes downtown really accessible, yet far enough away to make you feel like your out of the chaos.

Overall an an amazing stay, and I would fully recommend this place to other travelers - it's what Airbnb ought to be!

  • Eileen and Lucien were great hosts. The apartment is roomy and located in a very convenient part of NW DC. Bus right out the front door, pleasant staff at the Dorchester, and a good grocery store right next door.
I was there for a month and thought the living situation was perfect.
Enjoy. I will stay there again.

  • What amazing hosts! My friend and I just moved to DC looking for long-term housing and jobs, and decided to stay with Eileen and Lucien while we were searching for both. They were incredibly welcoming, neat, and helpful the entire time we stayed with them. They gave us advice on neighborhoods to explore while we were looking for housing, and they introduced us to several of their friends, all of them equally great. It was an awesome experience overall, and we're so glad we decided to do Airbnb with Eileen and Lucien.
We definitely plan on keeping in touch with them now that we're more permanently in DC. I absolutely recommend staying with Eileen and Lucien, they're wonderful hosts! We lucked out staying with them.

  • Caroline and I were in the US to visit Caroline's family and wanted to see DC. We found Eileen and Lucien on Airbnb and are so pleased we did.
Their place is perfectly situated, close to all the sites and easy to get to the Metro. Eileen and Lucien were very helpful with how to get around and what to see and make a very nice breakfast. We're so pleased we got the change to meet them both and stay with them.

About
When in town, you'll find Eileen at the Adams Morgan or Dupont Farmers Markets on the weekends. She enjoys cooking with her husband and appreciating a daily glass or two of wine, preferably French. It's a lucky day if you arrive and they make their tasty salmon & leek quiche. She'll probably open a bottle of bubbly to start.
