Characteristic apartment in pedestrian area few steps from Ponte Vecchio. Located in one of the streets of the old town in the district of Oltrarno. Short walk to all the most important places of Renaissance culture. Very quiet. Internet WIFI.
These apartments, almost identical in size and layout, are located just steps from the Ponte Vecchio at the border of the Oltrarno district of Florence. Their location is ideal; though less than ten minutes from the Duomo and thus the heart of Florence’s city center, they are in a neighborhood that still retains its authenticity and is slightly removed from the tourist bustle. It is renowned for artisan shops, very cool piazzas, markets, and fantastic restaurants, and one of Florence’s most favorite wine bars is literally across the street. The Boboli Gardens and Pitti Palace are all less than five minutes away. They are also ideal for more than one family traveling together given that they are in the same building on consecutive floors.
The main entrance to the apartments is a lovely courtyard that is home to one of Florence's most famous ceramic shops. The large windows inside the apartments look out onto other typical courtyards and the red rooftops that are so representative of Florence. The apartments are extremely quiet and privacy is guaranteed because they do not face the busy street below. They consist of an ample entryway, a living and dining area with dining table and sofa bed, a double-room with queen-size bed, a recently renovated bathroom with shower, and a small kitchen. They are located on the second, and fourth floors of an historic building, and there is a small elevator (to reach the elevator you must go two sets of stairs).
They also have all modern amenities: internet connection, air conditioning in one room , heating, ceiling fans, hairdryer, iron, and washing machine. All kitchen supplies are provided, from flatware and glassware to microwave oven, American coffee machine, refrigerator, toaster oven, and electric tea kettle. Small animals are permitted on the premises pending approval of the landlord.
Location, layout, and amenities make these lovely apartments a true find.
The OLTRARNO area is one of the best and old area of Florence. Best restaurants, trattoria gelateria...
You dont need public transit, just walking you could be in less than 5 minutes in all the best central and important places of the old town.
From the airport taxi or shuttle, very easy !
Excellent Internet WIFI, the router is in the apartment.
We spent 6 nights at Patrizia´s cosy, calm and clean appartment situated right in the centre of Florence. She is a very friendly host who reacted immediately to our questions and gave us great advices of places to visit in Florence.
We have stayed in Patricia’s apartment for four nights and really enjoyed our stay. Patricia understands what the guests need to know to enjoy Florence and is very kind and helpful. The apartment is perfectly located, spacious and immaculately maintained. All important museums and galleries are within easy walking distance. The only regret we have is not having a couple more days in Florence. If you like art and history, 5 to 6 days would be better. Florence is a jewel. We will recommend Patricia’s apartment to our friends.
Patrizia was a fantastic host who was very easy to communicate with and responsive throughout the entire process. Meeting her was very simple and she did a great job of giving us everything we needed for a perfect stay.
The apartment is in a great location in Florence, none of the major sites are more than a short walk and there is plenty of great restaurants and shops right outside the door.
The apartment was clean and comfortable with a good sized bedroom and large living room that had a couch that converts to a bed comfortable for two.
I would recommend staying here to anyone!
in the center of it all, and I do mean CENTER! the main street for us to drive down was a bit scary, when it looks like it's a pedestrian only street. once we located the actual address, which took a bit of figuring out the 'red' & 'black' numbers to street, it became a little more clear. the address takes you to a ceramic plate/pot store? but the lady who runs that shop was very kind in getting us into our flat. it took about 15 minutes as she was about to make a sale, so we came second. but once found, Beautiful place & spacious. for those driving a car, you'll need a garage, stay away from the one around the corner (behind street), from the start they looked shady, low & behold upon return of my rental, found that they had scraped the bottom & of course at my expense. Patrizia was a bit busy & came by the flat later on at night to make sure we were ok. She is a delight to deal with, wanted too invite her in, but she had to run. If you want a flat close to it ALL, this is the one! hands down.
We can't say enough good things about this apartment in Florence where we spent two happy weeks! The Oltrarno is a perfect location for tourism, learning Italian, studying in archives. While centrally located near the Ponte Vecchio, it is in a cul de sac that makes it private and quiet. The wonderful sound of church bells during the day was a special treat. We were on the 4th floor so the apt was very bright. There is a tiny elevator, big enough for one person and suitcase which made access easy. There is a great supermarket nearby with everything one could want; outdoor markets are walking distance away. Plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants nearby. The apartment itself was scrupulously clean and well furnished, including lovely linens and generous towels. The bed was very comfortable, the small kitchen is very well equipped with cutlery and dishes, fridge, microwave, coffee makers, washing machine, etc. [we often enjoyed shopping and eating in!]; and the Internet was fast and perfectly reliable. Patty B. was an excellent host, from the welcoming bottle of wine to advice about phone and other connections. In short, this rental is at the top of our list of AirBNB experiences, and we hope to return soon again!
Patrizia was very friendly and the room was cozy. The location was perfect, right beside ponte vecchio!
Wonderful stay in a perfect location! The apartment was very large for the price. We had trouble with the wifi on day one but Patrizia came over that evening with her husband and the problem was corrected only a few hours later. Apartment had everything you could need. We even found a great italian DVD (Cinema Nuova, I believe?) with English subtitles and enjoyed a lazy, rainy evening watching the film and enjoying the bottle of wine Patrizia left for us!
The other reviews are true, this apartment is really cosy, clean and perfectly located literally a few steps away from Ponte Vecchio. The flat is very well equipped and has everything you'll ever going to need. The bed is huge and super comfy and there's a couch for two in the living room as well. The house is in a little cul-de-sac a bit off one of the tourist tracks, the yard is residents-only at night time so it's really really quiet. Patrizia is the best host ever, friendly and very quick to respond. We already miss hanging out in this apartment, it felt like home!
We had a great time at Patrizua's wonderful apartment! It is ideally situated just steps from the tourist attractions but in a quiet courtyard. The apartment itself is spacious, clean and comfortable. Patrizia was so kind and recommended great restaurants in her neighborhood for us. Wonderful place!
