Where you’ll be

Seal Rocks, New South Wales, Australia

Beyond the natural beauty of the area Seal Rocks is a way of life that has almost disappeared. Seal Rocks and the lakes area is a close community, the businesses are all family run by lovely people always up for a chat.

During the summer we start most days with a coffee from Carlie at Single Fin and a paper from her mum Trudie at the local shop followed by a walk along boat beach and chatting to the local fisherman about their morning catch. In the winter the surf is up for those who want an adventure or enjoy the privacy and quiet surrounded by the bush relaxing in front of the fireplace.

Known for its stunning beaches, the lakes, seasonal whale watching, lighthouse, diving, national parks, great beaches and excellent surf.

There are fantastic local markets at Pacific Palms and in Forster. Many great local restaurants offering fantastic local caught seafood in the surrounding towns. Frothy Coffee Boatshed on the water at Smiths Lakes, the Great Lakes Paddocks Winery at Wootton and Pacific Palms Recreation Club also with on the lake with great views are all family favourites.

Sandbar Golf course is a short drive away.

Bushwalking is a popular activity, in the Myall Lakes National Park close by to Sugarloaf Lighthouse or Grandis the tallest tree in NSW.

There is so much to see and do in this part of the world for all ages. Kayaks, paddle boards, snorkel, diving trips, horse riding are all available close by.

If you prefer, a quieter pace enjoy a book, cooking, creature comforts, puzzles, games, yoga and meditation close to nature without having to leave the house. It truly is the best of both worlds and we hope you love this truly special part of the world as much as we do.

I have recently returned home to Australia after several years living in Paris working in fashion and design. I am a keen traveller but I love being back with my family who have always considered Seal Rocks one of the best spots on the planet :)
