Hidden from the outside world lies this cabin, in a large city garden in the eastern part of Enschede. It’s close to the city center and also to the beautiful countryside. It has it's own entrance path and amenities for work (wifi, computertable), for cooking and an outside porch for your finest relaxing moments, also in cold and reainy weather. The guest-bathroom is in the main house, 20 meters from the hut. There's free parking in front of the house.

The space
This cabin lies hidden in our city garden, surrounded by trees. Once you enter the gate, the cabin is on your left, hidden by greens. As artists we built this cabin to kindle our inspiration, and this we like to share! Behind the cabin we also have a yurt that we rent out to max 2 guests.
The Cabin resembles a tiny house in the Great North, heated with a woodstove (full manual is provided). Life in the Cabin is more primitive than you're probably used to - it's designed to nurture its guests with a more natural life. Decorated to cosy and characteristic, it has elctricity, a kitchenette, good insulation and good WIFI, and extra's like candles, napkints etc. It has a porch to enjoy, in all weather conditions, your privacy outdoors in all weather conditions - it has a fireplace , woolen blankets and a warm couch. The kitchenette has all you need for coffee/tea and cooking - a gasstove (3 burners), pots and pans, a small fridge, a water cooker (also for dishwashing) and a hair dryer. Most things that you use in the cabin are antique or in a matching vintage style. The bed is dressed with two single duvets (normal ones, and big feathers for the winter). The sleeping couch has room for two more guests. On the porch you can smoke, also check the wooden chest for board games, drawing materials, or use it as extra space for your belongings. The bathroom is 20 meters from the cabin, it's a guest bathroom that you may share with max. 2 other guests. It has a double bathtub, a shower cabin, toilet, sink, washing machine (that we also use for our b&b maintenance). The entrance is on the side of the house, and the yellow lights indicate if it's occupied (you can see them from the porch). In the garden, there's an exta picknick-table and here you can enjoy the pond, the birds and rabbits and the general atmosphere. You're welcome to spend the evening in the garden, but only without music (acoustic guitars excepted)
We have 4 touring bikes and 2 ATB's, to rent out to our guests (7,50 pp/pd for a touring bike, 12,50 for an ATB). Bikes are great for moving in the city or cruising the beautiful Dutch/German countryside, where we know our way around and tell you about if you like. There's a wild side to the cultural life in Enschede, which is much connected to nature, and this is part of our lifestyle. You can choose if you want to socialize, eventually we'll recommend the best hiking areas or a suitable movie to enhance the experience of your stay.
Breakfast: yoghurt and cruesli for the first night is incluced. A full breakfast is served for 8,50 euro pp, at your request.

The cabin lies next to the fence bordering the street, even though you easily forget the city is there at all. You might hear people walking their dog or an occasional car or train passsing by. The train lies in a deep ditch and the noise is like a ghust of wind. Neighbors can't see us, and it's good if they can't hear is either.

If you're interested in renting the Cabin and the Yurt both at the same time, for example when traveling with a larger group, this is possible if you book book well in advance, think of 2 or 3 months (contact me for this).

Velve-Lindenhof is a typical working class neighborhood. Our house is one of the first built in this neighborhood and our garden is big, with large trees. Our neighbors can hear us, but they can't see us. This is also the other way around, with people who walk their dog in the street. Our street is low in motorised traffic and next to a lowered railroad, with lots of trees, birds, squirrels, owls and other animals. There's not much noise from the trains though, they sound a gust of wind every now and then. We're close to the city center but also to the beautiful countryside - both are ten minutes by bike away. The gardens and forest of Castle Hooge Boekel can be reached by foot. We're close to the German border and there are great nature reserves around which we like to tell you about. We have three extra bicycles for rent (two male, onee female). Eventually you can hire e-bikes (delivered to the door). Several supermarkets are near and open untill 22.00. In our yurt, city life is near but you can also enjoy nature, full privacy and a unique atmosphere away from the city.

I'm an artist and together with my partner (artist and theatre technician) we turned our garden into a fairy-tale-like small village where we love to be and entertain guests, and where our guests can enjoy a unique atmosphere. We know the countryside around our house very well and will be happy to tell you about it.

Usually someone is at home, working in the studio, but always available if you need anything (like a cup of sugar). We know the surroundings very well and will share this information with you, or recommend a movie. You can keep it as private or sociable as you like, and we rest between 22.00 and 8.30
You can also book us for extra activities, like a painting course, a guided hike or a canoe-trip. Please ask us for prices and details on that.
