My house, located in the Bywater, is a beautiful historic shotgun house with a double parlor, one bedroom, a kitchen and a bathroom. It has a nice secluded yard in the back for having breakfast or just relaxing. The kitchen has all the usual appliances, stove, refrigerator, microwave, etc. and a small dining table. The Bywater has lots of neighborhood charm with many restaurants and bars. Vaughn's, Bacchanal, and Satsuma are walking distance away. I am a block away from two contemporary art galleries, The Front and Good Children Gallery. As a jewelry designer/artist, I live surrounded with art and use one of the rooms as my studio. I have the work of several local artists on display. Curio Space is a quiet and charming place with a strong focus on creativity.

The apartment is very large, actually bigger than it looks in the pictures. It's also walking distance from a lot of great spots in the Bywater area. Natalie was great and left some basics in the refrigerator as well as some recommendations for what to do in the area.
Natalie's place was great. I am a big fan of Bywater and I felt right at home in her apartment. Natalie was very accomodating and the communication was great. The space itself was spacious, eclectic and cozy. Great places to eat and drink are easy to walk to. Would gladly stay there again.
Natalie was a gracious host and recommended the BEST places to be, eat, and drink in NOLA! She even went as far as helping research photographers for me before we came down (We got married on our trip)! Her studio was very well decorated and cozy. The Bywater area is within walking distance of everything, however if you plan on exploring all of NOLA, rent a bike. When we return to NOLA, we will definitely visit Natalie and her studio again.
Natalie's house was perfect! It's beautiful and in an awesome neighborhood. It is quite a bit off from the French quarter but that's kind of what we were looking for. And with bikes we rented for the whole week it was the easiest way to get around. Although I didn't get to meet Natalie, her boyfriend was the one who turned the keys over and was very kind and helpful. Natalie asked to use her studio a few times, but since we were out during the day the entire time this wasn't really a problem at all. Overall, a perfect place for the kind of trip we wanted in New Orleans.
Great base for exploring the east side of the Quarter as well as Bywater. A reasonable walk (or easy bike ride) to Frenchmen, good restaurants nearby, and very nicely-kept house. Would definitely recommend.
Natalie's space is beautiful -- the pictures represent it well, and the ceilings are even higher than they appear in the photos, making for an airy and bright space. The kitchen is very functional and was a great spot for breakfast each morning.
We had an issue with the air-conditioning in the bedroom not working the first night, but Natalie got back to us the next morning and was able to fix it that evening. Unfortunately, it kicked out again the next night, but the fan she provided us with and the A/C in the next room were enough to keep us cool, and we didn't feel that it needed to be tended to that night. Granted, I believe we stayed at her place during the first really warm days of the year, and I'm sure she is having it repaired more permanently. Natalie was responsive and helpful throughout the process, as was her boyfriend.
The neighborhood, while not for everyone (check out the area online before booking to ensure it's right for you), ended up being an excellent fit for us. We enjoyed many of the restaurants that Natalie suggested and loved being able to walk everywhere. If you are an especially light sleeper, you may find some street noise bothersome, and if you are expecting more of a pristine neighborhood, you may prefer a different area -- but by the end of our trip, we were ready to move in.
Thank you, Natalie, for a lovely vacation!
Loved staying at the spacious Bywater apt. It was indeed artful. Enjoyed the various art pieces and bright colors. Natalie was a terrific host. She was very accommodating.
Bywater is a trendy, cool neighborhood. It's a ways, but we even walked to the French Quarter from there. Don't miss the new Crescent Park along the River.
I work as a studio jeweler in my home in New Orleans. I love collecting and trading my work for art. I try to surround myself with things that are handmade, creative and beautiful.
