  • The house was lovely, with a great location where you can walk to everything in town. The beds were very comfortable and perfect for 3 couples. Patricia and Mariela ( on site manager) were very helpful. There was a lot of information at the house to help plan the day trips we took.
Over all I recommend the home for a vacation stay in Patzcuaro!

  • Four of us (female friends) spent a wonderful week in Patzcuaro, staying at the lovely Casa de Nana Ree. The Casa is extremely comfortable and well equipped, it has great beds, lovely patios and terraces and lots of space to spread out in. It is very central in Patzcuaro but there was almost no traffic noise as it is not on a main traffic street. Patricia and Mariela were both very helpful, the booking process was easy, and they helped us find a car and driver for when we left at the end of the week. We would all highly recommend it and would certainly consider staying there again on our next visit.

  • The adorable Casa de Nana Ree is a fantastic colonial house with all modern amenities, located in the historic city center within easy walking distance to the beautiful Plaza Grande, Basilica, mercado (very large farmers market open daily), and all the restaurants and shops for your convienence. The Casa, city and very friendly people offer all the charms and adventure of old Mexico. This was our second visit. Having been thoroughly enchanted by Patzcuaro when we first visited for four days, we returned the following year for an extended three month stay at Casa de Nana Ree in November and December 2013 and January 2014, this time renting the entire three bedroom house. The well-designed and furnished Casa is very clean, fully equipped throughout, and full of all kinds of wonderful art that adds to its charm and your enjoyment. The beds are extremely comfortable with good linen and the living room sofas cozy and plump with cushions. You will find a six burner stove with oven, large refrigerator, and completely equipped kitchen with view to the courtyard water fountain and colorful flowering plants. On the upper covered terrace, enjoy your morning coffee and evening drinks while overlooking the city, surrounding green mountains, and glorious sunsets. Property Manager Patricia and her first-rate staff Mariela and Margarita are most helpful and attentive to your every need. We so enjoyed our stay and look forward to going back again. • It was great to be in Patzcuaro with our family. We rented the entire house for the five of us. The three teens were thrilled with the beautiful spaces. They were also happy that the internet worked flawlessly for streaming movies via netflix. The folk art in this house is amazing! Patricia has created a great guide book for the guests that includes all kinds of information from restaurants to a tour guide that can take you to see the artists. Per the advice in the guide book we went to the organic farmers market that was around the corner located in the terrace of a small b&b. While there we were invited back to a house concert they were hosting that evening featuring a classical guitarist. What a great evening we had. We ate twice at Lucy's Taqueria which opens from Thursday to Sunday evenings serving enchiladas, tacos, quesadillas and delicious horchata. We had only booked 4 nights at Casa Nana Ree but we ended up staying an additional 2 nights. Very cozy and comfortable house in a beautiful colonial town. Thanks !

Nathan and I are two Californians who were translocated to Patzcuaro, Michoacan for a year of our lives. We enjoyed exploring Mexico and all it´s food, culture and diversity. We met really wonderful people there and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the ´off the beaten track´ destinations and attractions that only living in a place for a length of time can afford. We started sharing our love of Michoacan and Patzcuaro in particular with anyone who came our way, and although life has called us back to California indefinitely, I still love sharing Patzcuaro with anyone who is interested. So now I manage Casa de Nana Ree from afar with the help of our invaluable caretaker and wonderful housekeeper in Patzcuaro. Nathan and I started meeting other travelers several years ago as we hosted couch surfers from all over the world in our home in Santa Cruz, Ca. Airbnb was the logical next step as we gradually desired more security, comfort and privacy both as travelers and hosts. 'Surfing' someone's couch is all about sharing your community with travelers and we have tried to apply that to our Casa as well. We have done our best to leave you comfortable AND informed - because the best things about visiting a new place are often the ones you wouldn´t ever know about unless someone told you! Being experienced travelers ourselves, we know it's the little things that make a place special. We love good music, delicious food (especially Mexican street food), interesting people, conversations and of course, wandering aimlessly whenever we can! So in the spirit of fellow travelers, we open the doors of our Patzcuaro Casa in hopes that others can enjoy a taste of the tranquilidad, cultura y amistad that is so prevalent in small town Mexico.
