  • The cottage is situated on beautiful grounds, perfect if you have a dog as plenty of places to go for walks and explore. The cottage itself is cosy but there is a very distinct smell of damp inside - especially in the bedroom. I found the mould on the ceiling in the bedroom off putting, so were the cobwebs on the bedside lamps. The shower tray overflows when showering and I felt like it needed a little bit of attention paying to it (both water filters needed replacing, the coffee was nearly empty, the washing up liquid was empty, a handle of a kitchen drawer needs putting back on, no drinking glasses). The wi-fi was also very intermittent, having phone no reception using the wifi was our only way of contact and it completely cut out on our last night for most of the evening until the next day. We didn't get to see Conrad as I don't think he was in for our stay but the details he left were very clear and we found the cottage with no problem. We were a little disappointed with the stay but once the damp is dealt with - as I've read in a comment below that he's spoken about it to someone else and will be getting the roof sorted then it will (email hidden) to stay. The Indian restaurant in Linton is really good too, well worth a visit if you get time.

  • Staying in the windmill was a unique experience. The accommodation was cosy and the gardens beautiful. Conrad was there to meet us with plenty of local knowledge to make our stay even better.

  • We booked this cottage as an ideal location for visiting relatives nearby and for the easy access to Cambridge using the Babraham P&R. The large garden and woodlands surrounding the property were pleasant (though somewhat run-down) and gave our visiting grandson space to run around and launch his bottle rocket! Unfortunately we had a few disappointments with the cottage itself. On arriving there we found an unpleasant musty smell in the property, though the cottage was warm and cosy (as implied!) and there was plenty of hot water. There were signs of damp here and there, for instance the shower cubicle had mouldy stains on the tiles and shower tray, and also the cooker was very dirty. We were a group of four adults and the airbed provided was very comfortable, though we thought a more professional solution to extra beds would have been a sofa-bed in place of the existing sofa. Some of the other amenities, eg crockery, were not really sufficient for four people, so I would suggest parties of two would find it more comfortable.
I have raised the concerns above with the owner and he has assured me that all these will be addressed - he says the damp problem should be solved by the re-roofing planned soon.

  • Conrad was a very easy host to communicate with and a helpful owner - flexible about arrangements. The cottage is in a great location on the edge of Linton which is a beautufully conserved village and has great pubs (email hidden) both of which we enjoyed. Very easy drive into Cambridge and Ely and other great attractions. The cottage is cosy but plenty of room for 2 - good it can have 4 if needed. It has all the facilities you need and the loft bedroom via a wooden steep staircase gives it character. Great place for a short break. Highly recommended.

  • Perfect for a weekend get away. The cosy cottage is in idilic settings and had everything we needed. Easy to get to Cambridge and the nearby Saffron Walden by car.

Conrad (email hidden) and even invited us to a fantastic exhibition in the adjacent windmill, which was a lovely bonus - we'd love to stay again!

  • Good location near lovely village but busy road to cross to get to the village. Cottage is useful as a base for exploring Cambridge and the local area.
