If spending time in nature is your cup of tea - welcome to our unique tent in the trees! Experience comfort camping in our wooded property. Unwind with the "unplugged" life - no electricity and cell service is spotty. You won't miss your phone though when you can curl up in bed after a day of hiking, fishing, biking, or whatever!

The space
This listing is open seasonally from May 1st to mid-October.

Check-in is anytime after 3 pm, check-out is before 11 am.

We have a 90 days in advance booking window, so it appears booked for the next 2 years, but it’s really not.

For example- if you’d like to book August 20th, you’d have to wait until May 22nd for it to become available.
If you’d like to book more than 1 night (starting August 20th, to continue the example) it would be best to request the date (Aug 20th) as SOON as you can on May 22 for that 1 night. Then, just simply communicate with us in the booking request that you’d like to extend your stay (up to a max. of 3 nights) and we can get you updated accordingly.

If you can’t select a date that you want- It means it’s NOT available. Please don’t send us inquiries asking for dates you couldn’t select. Thanks!

Photoshoots are NOT allowed unless you reach out to us and discuss the details of how many total people will be coming, and if you are willing to rent the space outside of Airbnb. This listing is best fit for 2 adults and there will be FINES for unauthorized photographers / extra people. DM us on Instagram @the_salisbury_hideouts if you'd like to discuss renting our listings for a content day event or other photoshoot purposes. We do ask for proof of insurance from you and prices will reflect renting both sites, extra cleaning, the extra people, and the possible presence of location managers (depending on number of people).

ALSO IMPORTANT: If you send a request to book - you're NOT BOOKED until you respond to a message we send including details about the stay. Only afterward we will approve the booking. If you don't respond, we will DECLINE your booking. Please understand that this is not an "instant book" listing. Thanks!

Please note: There is likely no cell service (with the possible exception for AT&T and US Celluar users), this is a RURAL location, no electricity, no running water, and there will be bugs and the potential for wild animals! Be prepared to print or screenshot our directions before you leave so you don’t lose your service and get lost.

Our Hemlock Hideout is a one-bedroom safari-style tent treehouse located in the relaxing woods of Salisbury, New Hampshire. We are located in a very rural area, which is great for plenty of outdoor activities!

Inside the tent treehouse, there is one bedroom with one queen bed, a living area that has a small table, and a kitchenette. Outside is a small deck with a staircase, a fire pit with a grill, an outhouse, and a camp shower (both not too far away from the treehouse).

Visit a treehouse like no other - the roof is greenhouse plastic, which allows plenty of natural light in! The windows provide lovely wooded views and the canvas walls allow nature to be part of your experience. Airy and light, the sounds of the forest and nearby stream can be heard! However, bugs may decide to be a part of your stay too. We did our best to seal the tent all around, we provide a fly swatter, and we fog the area, but consider bringing some bug spray just in case!

Some additional amenities include: an outdoor swing, mini fans for keeping cool, a non-stick granite coated pot and pan, a gooseneck tea kettle, french press, Starbucks Medium Roast Breakfast Blend ground coffee, tea, cocoa, kitchen utensils, plastic dinnerware, palm leaf plates, a slim single burner butane stove, eating utensils, salt and pepper, drinking water, extra blankets, towels, shower essentials, flashlights, a picnic table, firewood, and s'more supplies (yum!).

There is NO fridge or cooler so plan accordingly. (The Crossroads gas station in Salisbury sells ice if you bring your own cooler).

The Hemlock Hideout was an idea born from the success of the "Birchwood Hideout"- Our other listing! Both sites are hand-built by our grown children and are run with their help.

Walking and hiking right out your door! Some fun activities in the area can include paddling, fishing, and swimming in the Blackwater River (located about a mile from the site). You can also bring bikes to go for a spin in the neighborhood or The Northern Rail Trail, a nice bike trail near us. We are also on the side of Mt. Kearsarge and can direct you to two state parks that you can hike trails up that.

The Kitchen in Andover serves amazing breakfast and lunch foods, and some dinner servings. It is located about 5 miles north. The Refinery is fairly new, we haven't tried it but hear great things about it. It's about 8 miles north of the site. ***** Due to covid restrictions, all locally eateries are doing take out, or a few outdoor tables. *****

The Barnstore, 7 miles south of us, has great food but is not open on a regular basis. Call ahead to see. They serve locally grown meats. Try the pork chop breakfast!!

Another great place for breakfast and lunch is Tuckers, located 15 miles east in New London. Well worth the trip for good food!

For a good pizza at a good price, try the CrossRoads Country Store, about 6 miles south. Gas, basic necessities, and homemade cookies are their specialties.
