Aloha and E Komo Mai! Welcome to our vacation home in one of the Big Island’s most beautiful "secret" vacation spots, Kehena black sand beach in Puna Beach Palisades. Situated on the eastern coast of the Big Island, away from major "manicured" tourist developments, Puna Beach Palisades holds the serenity and unmarred beauty of an island paradise. Lush rainforests, jaw-dropping coastlines, and some of the freshest air in the world! While on the "wet-side" of the island, it doesn't have the desert-like heat of Kona, and gets a lot less rain than Hilo (only ~ 70 inches/year, compared to Hilo's 135 inches/year).
An easy drive to beautiful waterfalls, world class snorkeling, Volcano National Park, excellent restaurants, and exploration of the active lava flow & beach.
Our newly constucted tropical retreat has 3 bedrooms, with 2 California-king size beds and 1 Queen. 2 ½ baths, Master bathroom has Jacuzzi tub, separate rain-fall shower & double sinks. Our 2nd bathroom adjoins to a unique “private” outdoor lava-rock shower with 2 shower heads and river-rock floor for a natural foot massage!
Other features include a beautiful gourmet kitchen, comfortable open living room, formal dining room that seats 8 or simply enjoy dining in our spacious covered lanai from which you can enjoy ocean views and fragrant tropical breezes.
Fall asleep to the sound of the ocean waves and enjoy the fantastic sunrises.
Great for a quiet romantic getaway, rejuvinating-healing retreat, or a family reunion.
An excellent way to experience the natural beauty and majesty of Hawaii in style and comfort.
$180/night based on 4 guests, $15/night for each additional guest (upto 8)
As this is a newly built house (d appreciate it if you would enjoy it with care and respect.
The Lotus Residence is just beautiful ... well-appointed and very comfortable, in a quiet neighborhood with wonderful views. If you are coming in at night, however, keep in mind that the road in is very dark. We found the home very easily with a combination of John's excellent directions and our car's GPS. There is no cell service in the area whatsoever, but the house has a strong wifi connection. We were able to communicate home through Skype.
John was very hospitable! He even allowed us to stay past our check-out time so we could further enjoy our stay before catching a night flight home. There is much to do in the area (be sure to check out the handy guide binder John has put together), although it is a bit of a drive to Hilo, which is where most of our time on this trip was spent (we came for Merrie Monarch). As the home is a far from the town, be sure to stop for groceries before you make the drive.
Mahalo nui loa, John! We hope to stay in your lovely home again!
We (three adults) had a wonderful time at the Lotus Residence. Everything was as expected. There was of course much more space than we needed but the location was perfect to enjoy and explore the east cost of Hawaii.
The house and location was wonderful! Our extended family of 8 was very comfortable!
Lotus Residence is a wonderful house in an idyllic setting. The house is well stocked and quite comfortable. We appreciated the beach equipment and made use of it (chairs, beach towels, snorkel gear). Nice ocean view from deck and extremely quiet. We did enjoy our stay. Be aware that there is no cell service and no land line. There was good internet service and a TV but only to play DVDS - no television service was available. If you want to be in a beautiful area with few tourists and a gorgeous sea coast close by, this is the place!
What's better than paradise? A great place to stay in paradise! Two master bedrooms on separate floors, and a third smaller guest room. Upscale and open architecture. Clean, beautiful, with a view of the ocean from the balcony. We cooked our own meals, and found all the kitchenware we needed to make great meals. The well water was a little salty, but the fridge was stocked with bottled water! The location is away from touristy stuff, and about 25 minutes from a town, but it was within walking distance of the beach, and the event we were attending. You'll need a car. Unless you never leave this lovely house.
