The Space

Attic Room Warm quiet and cosy in friendly house

Cosy Attic Room available for short term stays in Dublin in a beautiful, quiet, well equipped house with garden. Double futon with comfortable mattress in a quiet attic space with cable tv (over 100 channels). Bathroom and kitchen are shared with owner who will make you feel welcome and help you connect with the real Dublin. Kitchen is available for breakfast and snacks.

Near to shops, trams and buses. Only 10 minutes walk from a Modern Art Gallery, the historic Kilmainham Jail, the Guinnesses Brewery and the Phoenix Park. 10 mins by tram into the city centre of Dublin.

If you want to get a sense of an inner city working class neighbourhood in Dublin, near the Canal you will enjoy Rialto. It is like a village in the city with a coffee shop and two pubs. Not too far away there is a very good italian restaurant (Inchicore) and Dublin city has everything a visitor needs.

Guest Access

Shared bathroom, access to kitchen for breakfast (provided) and tea/coffee at other times

Interaction with Guests

I live in the house. Room is at the top of the house. I always welcome the guest on arrival to ensure they feel at home, can find their way around and answer any questions they may have

The Neighborhood

I love the sense of community. Rialto is like a friendly village in the city. The street I live on has all age groups and types of people. Every year we hold a street party and there is a sense in the neighborhood that people look out for each other

Getting Around

Parking is on street and is free. There is easy access to regular buses and the tram. Also the Dublin bike scheme has a station only five minutes away

Other Things to Note

Rialto is so close to parks and the grand canal - if you are into walking or running you can just go out the door and get some fresh air!

House Rules

The house is a family home and is lived in. For that reason it would be expected that guests respect that they are sharing with other people in terms of noise late at night etc.. - though the atmosphere is very relaxed. There is no smoking inside the house but people smoke in the garden (this is common in Ireland). We live in a lovely quiet neighbourhood so respect with regard to neighbours is expected too.
