Loft - Entire home/apt · Carlton Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11205, United States

The Space

Unique, enormous (1500 sq ft,) fully furnished 4 bedroom / 1 bathroom loft apartment with lots of light and a huge communal roof deck located in the heart of Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Each of the 4 bedrooms have queen or full sized mattresses, a desk, dresser and clothing rack. The rooms are quite large even by New York standards, each at least 150 sq ft.

There's a hammock that can be used to lounge and read. or as an extra sleeping spot for a guest. There's also an air mattress. Max capacity for sleeping is 10 people (2 in each bed + 1 each in hammock and air mattress.) Please keep in mind that you'll be sharing one bathroom.

Large common areas are quite cozy with couches, stereo, movie projector, Apple TV, large work table and wireless internet.

Kitchen is fully equipped and there's coin-operated laundry in the building, but also a drop-off laundry and dry cleaner just around the corner.

The apartment is located one block from Fort Greene park and is a close walk to an array of subway lines that will get you in to the city. It's about 20-25 min from the front door to Union Square. But, while you're in Fort Greene you'll have tons of choice when it comes to restaurants, bars, groceries and other amenities.

Located just two blocks from 'restaurant row' on DeKalb Avenue where you'll have plenty of choices to eat or grab a drink. On weekends the neighborhood is teeming with fresh locally made food and goods at the farmers market (2 blocks,) the Brooklyn Flea (4 blocks) and the Dekalb Market (10 blocks.) There are also three grocery stores within a ten minutes walk and two organic markets within a 5 minute walk (both on Myrtle Ave.) The kitchen is fully equipped, so staying in to cook and then eating on the roof deck is a great option.

The two closest subway stations are Lafayette on the C train and DeKalb on the B/Q/R line. Both are about a ten minute walk. You can also catch the 2/3/4/5 at Nevins and the A/C/(email hidden). which are both about a 15 min walk or a catch the B38 and B54 bus - each runs right through the neighborhood and will connect you with a subway in downtown Brooklyn.

Thanks for you interest.

  • Oh man this place is amazing. I really really wish I lived here. Tons of room. It has a great kitchen, a big dinning table, spacious living room, project + sound for movie watching, and a hammock! This was one of my favorite Airbnb places I ever stayed in. Anthony is very communicative and super friendly.

  • Great location and the common spaces were really cool -- projector for tv, hammock, etc. It was also great having access to a kitchen. Anthony was very accommodating and left keys at a neighborhood coffee shop so each of us could pick them up as we arrived in town.

We went in the summer and the air conditioning really helped cool down the common spaces, though some of the bedrooms were still a little stuffy. And the one room with windows had a mattress that was too firm for our liking.

It was even better than the photos and felt bigger.
Perfect location, great neighborhood with a park 2 minutes away, a few stops from Manhattan, amazing view from the rooftop!
    I highly recommand Anthony's place!

I'm an architect and professor living in Brooklyn, NY. I moved to Fort Greene nine years ago for graduate school at Pratt, found a great place and have been here since. Fort Greene is a creative and diverse neighborhood with a lot of places to eat, drink and shop for fresh food - so I love it here. Recently I'm trying to start my own business that combines my design skills with my interest and experience in food and drink. I'm pretty well traveled - have lived abroad in The Netherlands and Italy which allowed me to see most of Europe. I've also traveled extensively in the United States (44 out of 50 states!) I hope to do another cross country trip in the US soon and would also love to spend some time in Buenos Aries, Sicily and Southeast Asia. I read a lot, am a huge Radiolab fan, play ice hockey and love improv comedy.
