The surf bus is a beautiful boho style cottage, with a full bed, sitting area and kitchen. The bath house is separate.

To those of you that have been here before, the new location is just as magical but definitely different than the previous spot. The outdoor shower allows you enjoy sunshine, moonlight and starlight. It is also very spacious. The yard is sunny and open with a picnic table and grill.

Perfect for the more adventurous:)
Must be mobile and agile to enjoy :)

The space
The new surf bus location is nestled behind Ocracoke's 1718 brewery. The yard is private and spacious fitted with a grill and picnic table.

There is only ground water available on this street so be prepared for an “ocracoke twang” scent. I do supply clean fresh 5 gallon jugs of water.

New addition to the description:!:
My twin boys just turned 7 years old and we have new neighbors who have two boys who are 10 and 12.
There may be nurf gun battles around the property, but they understand the privacy of our guests. They will be reigned in if being disrespectful to the space.

The bathroom is in a separate building that also hosts the outdoor shower.
This area is shared but only with the owner

**Due to the unique nature of this island, it’s isolation preserves it’s beauty and wonderful atmosphere - but at the cost of being dependent on ferry systems. GET TRIP INSURANCE**

The yard is clearly set and for your private use :) I may need to tend to the garden, but try to do that in between guests. Help yourself to the herbs! Mint, oregano, rosemary etc

Other things to note
You must be able to climb stairs, and open large doors!

the SurfBus is definitely for the more adventurous guests!!

This space is for active people who are okay with taking a few extra steps to go out to the bathroom. It’s not that far, but just trying to be clear, it is outside of the bus.

Welcome! I’m Chelsea :) Mother of twin boys, avid gardener, and Ocracoke resident. In 2019, I hosted the “Cedar Surf Shack” - which was destroyed in hurricane Dorian. The space has been replaced with the “Surf Bus” and it’s even better! Hope our happy guests can come back to visit again this year!
