The apartment 'located in a nice area between the Basilica of St. John Lateran and the Colosseum. The building dates from the 19 th century, and 'has recently been restored. The apartment has one bedroom with double bed, living room with sofa bed, kitchenette and bathroom with tub. The apartment is bright and quiet and pleasant overlooking the inner courtyard of the palace, has hardwood floors, security door, air conditioning in every room, washing machine and TV. The apartment 'of 45 square meters and' located at 1 ° floor with elevator.
The house is one of the oldest Roman roads, now transformed into urban street is the street that links the Manzoni at the Coliseum. In the magnificent scenery of the Roman Empire, the house is close to major landmarks: the Basilica of St. Clement, the church of San Giovanni in Laterano, the Roman Forum and Santa Maria Maggiore. The means are the two closest major subway lines (line A and line B Manzoni stop Colosseo)
Achillo is nice person, he gave us many helpfull direction about Rome:)
Very good location. Apartament was clean but equipment Inside was old and not fresh..
Unfortunately, this was the worst Airbnb experience I have had to date - and I use the service almost every week. Despite Achille being a gentleman and being, himself, extremely accommodating when we checked in - the apartment in no way resembles this listing. The apartment is is terrible condition - the door handle comes off the bathroom door, the shower is essentially unusable as the temperature is so inconsistent, the hallway was being used as storage, there was a ladder laying in the bedroom, there was a piece of glass on the floor, etc. There is no WIFI either.
The location of this apartment is ideal; however, the price is far too steep for this apartment, especially in the poor condition it's in. If cleanliness, value and the ability to shower are important to you, I strongly suggest you stay elsewhere.
I worked with Airbnb's resolution center to receive a credit for a part of our stay. It's unfortunate that some Airbnb hosts fraudulently advertise a unit, taking advantage of renters.
CIAO ACHILLE!! NOS ENCANTO EL DEPARTAMENTO, MUY COMODO Y EXCELENTEMENTE UBICADO!!!
In July my family and I stayed at Achille’s apartment.
Achille welcomed us very kindly, he came with us to the street to show the area and explain how to move in Rome. His apartment is small but very comfortable for four people.
The sofa bed is uncomfortable but for a few days is aceptable.
The apartment is very well connected, it has two metro station near and a lot of buses. And you can go by walk to the Coliseum in 15 minutes.
You have a lot of shops and restaurants near the apartment.
This apartment is in a great area/location. Walk a few steps and there it is, the Colosseum. The host met us at he metro and was very patient with our late arrival. Unfortunately, the apartment is in desperate need of cleaning and finishing its renovation, in particular the bathroom. Also I expected it to be more tourist friendly. The apartment could have included a map of the city or any other helpful literature. I don't know about you but I don't usually carry salt/pepper, sugar, toilet paper, paper towels/kitchen towels when I travel. Those basic items should have been provided. There is no microwave or coffee pot ( thank God for all the nearby coffee shops). There's also no Wi-fi or internet in this apartment, which I thought was highlighted in the description of the AirBnB website. If they take care of these details then the price of $132/night may be justifiable.
Great location, about a 5-7 min walk to the colosseum, 5 min walk to the metro station (Manzoni- metro line A, 2 stops from Termini station), 5 min walk to grocery store (Despar, up merulana strreet) and bus stops are in front of apt (some of the buses that stop there: bus 85 and 87 to corso (shopping area) and bus 3 & 8 to trastevere).
Host gave a great little tour of the area, pointing out where the metro station is, suggesting places to eat and where to go grocery shopping. There is no wi-fi but there is an internet cafe about a 2 min walk down Labicana towards the colosseum. 1 euro/30 min (i think).
The apartment was small but it had enough space for 4 (2 adults in bedroom and 2 adults in sofabed).
It was clean however there was no liquid soap in the washroom (so bring own) and sometimes we ran out of hot water.
Also, the shower head was not attached to the wall so you had to hold the shower head every time you showered.
Overall, our stay was good.
We enjoyed our stay at Achille's. The apartment nice. It was neat and clean when we arrived. Its located 10 mins from the Colosseum. The bus stop is just outside and the metro is 5 mins away. The host was kind and helpful. He showed us around a bit, gave us some ideas on where to eat, shop etc. It was a pleasant stay!
Achille was a very good host. He greeted us upon our arrival. Showed us all the essential information needed about the neighbourhood. The apartment is located just 10 mins by foot from the Collosseum but away from the crowded and touristy area, so it is pretty quiet in the evenings. But it is close by to everything we neded. There is a small convinience store just 3 mins from the apartment. The Metro station is two traffic lights away, a supermarket, pizzaria is just around the corner. So location wise, it was superb. The neighbourhood is pretty safe, even during the late evenings when we come back after exploring the amazing Rome.
The apartment itself is slightly smaller than it appears on the photograph. It sure fits perfectly for two, but a bit cramped for the three of us. It was a bit old, but everything works okay. With the price that Achille offers, it is perfectly fine.
One slight problem is there is no air conditioning. I dont know whether it is us who did not find it or it is not provided from the beginning. But the weather and the design of the apartment is cool enough without aircons even though it is the beginning of summer in Rome and it can be pretty hot. The sofa bed is quite big, but kinda need some repairment due to the squeeky sounds that it made when you slept on it. The towels and linens are abundant, so need no worry about that. We were missing a thrash bin, so we have to use plastic bags for thrash. Luckily we spent most of our day outside the apartment, so not much thrash in the apartment.
Overall, it is an OK apartment to stay in. Especially if you are looking for a good location.
