Our stay was excellent!!! Definitely worth the price. It was very unique and beautiful. My boyfriend came to visit and absolutely loved hearing the forest come to life at night. It was so nice to disconnect from our electronics and just having good company and good conversation. Everything was clean and it was easy to arrive following the instructions on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps. I would definitely recommend this and I am from the island. We stayed at the Buddha Hooch.

I stayed for a weekend with my wife to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We wanted a quiet place where we could relax and disconnect from our stressful lives, while also being near beaches. The Buddha Hooch was perfect for this. The first thing you notice when you arrive is how hidden the place is. I missed the entrance the first time I went by, but after re-reading the directions I was able to figure it out. If you get lost, you can call and they'll help. After arriving and parking, we were guided through a 2 or 3 minute trail through the wilderness. It's very pretty, they have different kinds of plants and trees, including some very tall bamboo and eucalyptus trees. You'll probably want to bring hiking shoes if you want to go exploring the other trails and the weather is rainy. When we finally got to the hooch, the first thing we noticed was that the toilet and shower are all out in the open, underneath the hooch. No doors, no walls, no nothing. At first it was kind of weird and uncomfortable, but then you realize that you're all alone by yourselves and surrounded by enough vegetation to provide enough privacy to be free. It was a pretty awesome feeling to be able to shower like that in the wild. The hooch has a solar water heater, which was great. At night, everything is pitch black. You can hear the sounds of crickets, coqui (Puerto Rico's local singing frogs), and birds. It's an incredibly relaxing experience. You should bring a flashlight if you plan to hike to or from the parking lot at night. The hooch has solar-powered lighting, so it may run out at some point in the night depending on how much you use. All in all, we loved it and can't wait to return. Things to bring: Flashlight, hiking shoes, battery powered fans, beer, wine, ice, bug repellent (we didn't actually need or use any repellent, but bring some just to be safe).

Stayed one night at the hooch and it was everything you could ask for and more. Beautiful, clean, and comfortable. No issue finding Jo's property and they were easy to contact. It was a quick 5min walk from the car on a well-marked and maintained trail with beautiful bamboo scenery. The hooch is three stories, full plumbing bathroom, kitchen with gas stove, and upstairs bedroom. Overall the place was extremely clean. It is a unique and enjoyable experience for anyone visiting Rincón. We loved our stay and would come back again anytime.

We loved staying here ! But the only thing is that you have to walk about 3 to 4 minutes and the path is muddy.

The buddah treehouse was EXACTLY what we hoped for. It was very private, spacious, and with more amenities than expected. I would certainly bring bug spray because the mosquitoes are plentiful. I would also make sure to pickup ice for the cooler and an electric fan for the heat. Enjoyed every second of it.

I am a bamboo artist. Our property has over 35 species of bamboo in mature stands. This bamboo is harvested and utilized in the construction of our hooch treehouses, and as raw material for lamps, chandeliers, beds, furniture, and many other architectural details. The Tropical Treehouse is built upon the concept of sustainability and self-sufficiency.
