..about goa

.... Palm-fringed beaches, the Arabian Sea, green rice paddy fields, the chorus of birdsong at sunrise, blue skies, spectacular sunsets and the scent of wet earth in the first monsoon showers ...

..... Old Portuguese monuments, ancient temples, gleaming-white churches, colourful festivals and bazaars, fascinating contrasts, an intriguing blend of past and present ...

..... Cheerful and hospitable people, lush coconut groves, verdant hill forests, placid rivers and lazy backwaters, the fragrance of the cashew and mango blossoms in the cool air at dawn ...

Whether it's your first visit or your fifth, something about Goa touches the soul. The scenic beauty and the relaxed atmosphere attracts visitors to Goa from all over the world.

Fabulous sandy beaches bordering the Arabian Sea, friendly and welcoming people and wonderful food are some of its attractions as a holiday destination. Goa is viewed as a safe, peaceful and fun destination, where tourists get good value for money

The Goa season begins as the monsoon dries up around the end of October. This is a beautiful time to be in Goa as everything is green and luscious and there’s still the occasional roll of thunder in the air

Into January the nights grow a little cold and it’s good to have a sweater with you when driving at night through the paddy fields

By March everything is dried up, all the green has turned brown and the dust begins to settle. The locals burn the straw on the dry rice paddy fields and the buffalo take dips in whatever pools of water they can find

By April the sea is like bath water and it’s too hot to move

The monsoon rains fall from around July to October a wonderful time to experience Goa if you like to relax and listen to the storms

A great time for romantics!

Evangel apartment is available all year round although the best time to visit Goa is from November to February when the climate is perfect and the sun shines from dawn ‘til dusk

Be prepared for rain and more rain if you visit during the monsoon, charter flights are not available and most tourist areas and restaurants are closed down

  • The apartment complex is nice but without car difficult to move around. For the sake of travelling convenience we did check out one day earlier.

  • I, my wife, son (4 yrs) and parents stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Its bright, clean, and airy. Being on ground floor, access for my parents was perfect. The pool (and the compound) is well maintained- saw it being cleaned everyday. The place is about 15-20 mins from Baga/ Calangute, which was not an issue for us at all, since we had a car.

Fantastic value for the price, i would definitely consider this place again- even if the additionals are not provided.

  • Evangel Goa is a wonderful place to stay and relax. The apartment complex is quiet and serene, the pool is the cleanest I have seen in India, and the hosts are very accomodating. We brought two young kids and had a wonderful vacation over the course of a week. We recommend the beaches to the north rather than the crowded Calangute/Baga/Arjuna. The apartment itself was tastefully decorated and had everything we could want to prepare our own meals and be very comfortable. Will definitely stay again if we return to Goa.

Evangel Goa
About
With a population of 12,000, Siolim is one of the state's largest villages - not as though you would know it as you wander around the densely forested lanes, colonial era houses and colourful fruit and veg stalls that line the roads. Unlike Calangute just 10km south, the town has escaped the mass development that so defines the popular tourist areas of Goa's coast. Shops in the village are aimed at locals and not tourists, markets sell food rather than sequined lampshades and foreigners are usually in and out in as much time as it takes to withdraw R.5000 from an ATM. For anyone that sticks around, Siolim's appeal is quick to appear - the town is resolutely Goan, it has not changed itself for Western visitors. It produces some of the world's best feni, a uniquely Goan alcoholic drink brewed from cashews or coconuts, and there are some beautiful walks to be enjoyed by the river and along the shady lanes.
