Jamaica is perhaps the sweetest little Vermont village that you could imagine! It has all the character and charm you could ask for. Surrounded by a bowl of mountains, it is populated by humble, hard-working, and creative people. You can walk to every little shop and cafe, and the State Park is just footsteps away, too. You'd be hard-pressed to go for a walk and not meet up with someone else on foot willing to say hello and strike up a conversation with you! That's just how it is in Jamaica.

  • A wonderful long weekend getaway. Erin's place is so perfect. A nice farm house with plenty of beautiful country right outside the front door. Friends and I enjoyed Stratton and Bromley mountains for a wonderful weekend. We came back to this cozy house nestled in the heart of Jamaica! Erin was a gracious host.

  • Our friends enjoyed our weekend skiing. The house was not far from the mountain and was very cute. Definitely good for a skiing weekend! Thank you so much, Erin!

  • The farmhouse is exactly as Erin describes it, very authentic and with a soul ! It's right in the center of Jamaica, close to shops and close to the Jamaica State Park. We loved our stay there.
The house was super clean and very confortable. We highly recommend this beautiful old house to discover the amazing state of Vermont and the Green Moutain National Forest area.

  • My boyfriend and I were completely charmed by Erin's farmhouse. The farmhouse was the perfect combination of rustic and luxurious. We enjoyed a bicycle tour around Jamaica, including the nearby campground and state park. The adorable corner store was a perfect spot to pick up some snacks, wine, craft beers, and coffee. Certainly the little village is not a bustling metropolis, but is quaint and lovely. As for the farmhouse, it was impeccably clean, warm, comforting, and beautifully decorated in period style. Erin was a joy - she provided us with so many tips about the area and the amenities at the farm. Moreover, she allowed us to book for one night because it was a weeknight, which we greatly appreciated as we we had to move on to our next destination (but would have spent many more nights had we been able). We can't rave enough about the beauty of the house and the pleasure that is Erin. Be sure not to miss the hammock in the back yard!

  • We arrived at this adorable house a sunny Saturday afternoon. The house is really charming. I would say it takes you back in time...

The locals here were very helpful with any questions we had during our stay.

As this was our first time in Vermont, I was taken by pleasant surprise with how naturally beautiful everything was. The views during the drive, the small old-fashioned towns we drove through, the swimming and hiking spots...all of it.

His trip was also an antique lover's dream! If I had had a truck I probably would have brought a ton back with me.

Lastly, Erin was so helpful and attentive. She always made sure we knew she was available if we needed anything along the way from our initial booking to the week we were there. She was great.

Our family would definitely return. Thanks Erin!

  • Lovely, peaceful and a wonderful place to stay! I recommend it if you want to get away, but can't be more than a short walk from a great coffee house!

  • The house was very nice and comfortable. We really enjoyed the fireplace in the back garden and going swimming in the mountains.

  • We stayed in Erin's charming Jamaica house for few days, and had a great time. Her place was all ready for our arrival, and couldn't have been a more comfortable base for our visit, which in addition to Southern Vermont wound up including all the other New England states.

Erin is a terrific host. She provided detailed info on her house, and a very helpful guide to activities and restaurants in the area. Highly recommended!

  • What a fantastic property! As Erin points out: this is not a luxury hotel. However, it IS a beautifully restored 1800s farmhouse, complete with everything you'll need for a wonderful vacation. Add in a charming town center -- including a fully-stocked general store and a town hall with a fun event every night we were in Jamaica, despite it being a relatively small village -- and you'll find it hard not to relax. And being walking distance to the state park was pretty fantastic too!

Needless to say, we had a great time.

  • We have a tremendous time at Erin and Bjorn's! The place was as advertised and there were no surprises. It is very close to town and also to Jamaica State Park which was a HUGE plus. In fact, we would love to stay here again and may do so in the future. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some R&R in a beautiful Vermont town. We absolutely loved it.

    Thanks Erin and Bjorn!

I am from New Jersey. I lived in Vermont for 8 years where I attended Bennington College and Vermont College of Norwich University. I met my husband in Vermont, too, so it is only natural that we bought a second home there. We have many great friends and memories there. I have been an art educator for 17 years. Our two beautiful sons, ages 15 & 10 keep us busy! So happy to share our vacation house with airbnb guests!
