Our lovely antique farmhouse, circa 1850, is rich with history and charm. With original wide pine floors, plaster walls, slate roof, and classical lines, you will get a true taste of Vermont's beautiful architecture nestled in the mountains.

Sit and relax in the Adirondack chairs as you listen to the Pikes Falls River running through the private backyard. Gather with friends around the crackling woodstove in the cozy barn. Prepare a feast with fresh food purchased from the local farmer's market in the fully equipped kitchen. Dine around the large farm table by candlelight, and talk and laugh till the wee hours of the night. Enjoy life's simple pleasures in a home with such wonderful history.
On a quiet street just off Main, you will enjoy privacy and quiet time, while being just footsteps away from the village of Jamaica. The village offers a general store that seems to carry everything you could ever need: A coffee shop/café, art galleries, a library, fine inns and restaurants, and a lively farmer's market on Sundays (seasonal). The Jamaica State Park, also within walking distance from the house, has beautiful hiking trails and waterfalls. Manchester, known for its shopping outlets (Coach, Burberry, Armani, Gap, J. Crew, etc.) and wonderful restaurants is just a 20-minute drive. The Townshend Dam waterways are perfect for canoeing/kayaking and has white, sandy beaches for swimming and picnicking. The Townshend Auction House is an amazing place to find antiques and fine art for pennies on the dollar. There are many area antique shops to browse in. Brattleboro and Bennington are fun towns for day trips. Come and enjoy the natural beauty of Vermont, and surround yourself with meandering rivers and a backdrop of breathtaking mountains. Our home is children and pet-friendly. Sleeps 8 people. One queen and one double bed downstairs, and four twin beds upstairs. The home is outfitted with all the comforts of home, and has a wood stove, a large library of DVDs, wifi, and a washer and dryer.
The guests will have complete access to the entire house, including the attached barn, as well as the entire acre of property.
I interact with my guests shortly after the reservation is booked so that they have all the rental and amenities information. I am always a cell phone call or a text away, too, in case there is any question or concern.
Jamaica is perhaps the sweetest little Vermont village that you could imagine! It has all the character and charm you could ask for. Surrounded by a bowl of mountains, it is populated by humble, hard-working, and creative people. You can walk to every little shop and cafe, and the State Park is just footsteps away, too. You'd be hard-pressed to go for a walk and not meet up with someone else on foot willing to say hello and strike up a conversation with you! That's just how it is in Jamaica.
There is no public transit, but you can walk to any place within the village.
Erin's farmhouse is very charming and just what we hoped it would be. It is in a beautiful area that lived up to all our expectations.
We had a huge amount of snow and enjoyed fabulous sking at Stratton mountain, lots and lots of powdery white stuff!
The farmhouse was very warm and cosy, with plenty of room for us all. The furniture and decor is great , a good authentic feel.
Erin is a very attentive host and any queries we had she dealt with immediately . The grocery store in Jamaica also gets top marks.
The house was perfect for our stay. The kitchen was well-appointed and the beds were comfortable and there were lots of blankets and pillows (we had a large group!). It was just a moments walk from food and booze at the country store, so it was the perfect combination of country quiet and country living.
The house was the perfect escape. It was very clean and nice - the house has a lot of character and includes a fireplace and grill.
Erin's place is well situated between the town of Jamaica and the state park. Good hikes available in the state park along the river with a great trail for my dog. Also liked the nearby bar Whiskey Dick's just up the road - a lot of great locals.
Erin was proactive with helpful tips and suggestions and responsive to my questions (before and during) the stay. She is a great hostess.
My only advice is to bring some supplies with you (e.g. toilet paper, garbage bags, food, water) as the local market can get pricey, though still very friendly.
Also, dog owners should be aware that the house is located on a road (though quiet) and dogs would need to be leashed for their safety.
Overall a great stay.
Erin's Farmhouse is really great! We enjoyed a wonderful time in her charming house and felt the lovely atmosphere. Erin's recommendations concerning leisure activitis were very helpful.
We enjoyed our stay in October. I'm convinced that the backyard use during summertime will be a comfortable too.
I came to stay at Erin & Bjorn's place for my 30th birthday with a few close friends. We had a great time - the house is lovely, full of character and equipped with everything you need. On top of that - the woods just at the end of the road offer amazing hiking and trails.
An excellent place in an excellent location.
Thanks Erin & Bjorn!
My girlfriends and I had a wonderful weekend in this house! The backyard was beautiful and shaded and perfect for hot summer days. The house feels very cozy and has everything for a relaxing stay. We walked to the Jamaica State Park and to the general store; it was great to be in a place where we didn't have to drive. Erin was very timely in her communication and the whole experience was very easy. I would highly recommend staying at this property.
We truly enjoyed Erin's 1850's farmhouse. The property is convenient to many recreation venues and is warm and inviting. Recommend staying here.
A group of 5 girls (coworkers) we rented the charming jamaica farmhouse for the weekend of Wanderlust yoga festival. It was pretty much the most perfect location we could have ever chosen....and the loveliest.
We enjoyed cocktails by the river. We were walking distance to coffee.
The house was super cozy. With the a/c on upstairs it cooled off quickly. We are all totally thankful to have been able to stay together for some bonding time and in such a charming space. Definitely HIGHLY recommended!
We loved staying at Erin's house, it was perfectly situated a short walk to town and the Jamaica state park. It was the perfect place for a relaxing weekend, cooking and hanging out with friends. Hope we can visit again soon.
We really enjoyed our stay at the red house! The location is ideal - just a few minutes walk from Jamaica State Park. People in town are super friendly. And the farm house is very charming. We were there first hot weekend of the summer. Once the air conditioning was in, the house was really comfortable.
