Maurseth Mountain Village is a newly opened holiday resort situated on the western side of the "Hardangervidda National Park", close to the major tourist route between Oslo and Bergen, southern part of Norway. Distance from Bergen is about 172 km (2 hours 45 mins) and from Geilo approx 67 km (1 hour). Distance to the Hardangerfjord is about 25km (20 minutes). At Maurseth you can discover the Norwegian nature at its best; wide and open mountain areas, steep mountains and impressive waterfalls. Deep valleys and greenblue fjords. Glaciers, mountain rivers, wildlife and obviously beautiful scenery. Perfect spot for hiking, canoeing, kayaking, biking etc.
Maurseth lies about 800 meters above sea. Distance to the famous waterfall "Vøringsfossen" is about 5 minutes. Maurseth Fjellandsby was opened in autumn of 2008. The middle of Hardangervidda National Park is only few minutes away by car. This is the best place to stay when spending a week in between Oslo and Bergen.

Full week, mid-week (5 nights) or weekend. Get in contact, and we will find a solution.
Note: the indicated price is for the whole of the apartment, it is not possible to let one room only (it is not a hotel). This means pricing will appear rather expensive for 1 or 2 persons only, but inexpensive for 4 or more people.
My husband and I stayed at this apartment for 3 nights in May 2014 and it was nicely situated for our 10 day self drive roundtrip from Bergen.
The apartment was lovely with a fully equipped kitchen and beautiful views off the lounge and balcony.
The owner sent us a helpful leaflet providing tips and information about the apartment/area.
The apartment is such good value and we have fallen in love with the Hardangerfjord!
We stayed in Trond’s spacey nice apartment by the river in Hardangervidda
National Park last August for 5 days. It’s great destination if you like
hiking, climbing, fishing, and cross-country
The Norwegian Mountain Touring
Association maintains a comprehensive network of huts and paths across
Standing 2,000 meters above sea level with views through 360 degrees does
something to you. It opens up your mind. After the day activities we
enjoyed cooking in the well equipped kitchen and sitting by the fireplace
in the family room. Sauna was a great supplement as well. High speed Wi-Fi
connection was a plus too. Closest convenience store is on the campground
just 2 miles away (bigger supermarket is in Einfjord - 20 minutes drive).
I would recommend it because of the unique beautiful nature and proximity
to the airport in Oslo.( It takes just about 4 hours to get there by the
mountain roads and no highways!!!). The only recommendation for the host
would be to have final cleaning service included in the rent – no hassle
for the guests on the departure day . Leo
I stayed at Trond's vacation home in Hardangerfjord. I was looking for a place somewhere in the middle between Oslo and Bergen. We were 4 adults and 2 Kids. The house is very spacious and there are lot of places to explore around the area. There is also a nice stream behind the house.
Trond is very friendly and easy to communicate with.
We have stayed a family of 5 for two nights in July 2013. The appartment is well equipped and decored. There is a view to a stream from the appartment and an exit to a large backyard where you can bbq.
For those who want to spend a few economic nights with a family it is a good place to travel in Hardangervidda. However, our main travelling area was between Sandvika and Eidfjord, so we should have chosen a place in that area due to the driving time needed. The place is a short drive from the Voddelfossen.
A few notes: you must clean after your staying, prepare your own breakfast. In addition it was'nt/is'nt written in Airbnb but it is asked to rent or bring your own bedsheets and towels. The wifi connection did not work.
We had a great stay near the Hardangerfjord. The house was new, modern and spotless clean and had all what you wanted. There is a great grass field behind the house great for kids wanting to play.
The house is 5 mins away from the fjoringvossen (large waterfalls) and 20 minutes away from eidfjord where the hardangerfjord starts.
We also did a day trip to the sognefjord from here which was about a 2 hours drive away.
All in all a great place and Trond has everything taken care off.
Our experience was wonderful, we couldn't choose a better place to stay during our trip. It has a great location for a round trip by a car, being in the middle of Bergen and Oslo the main cities of Norway.
The apartment is very comfortable, very well decorated and even better equipped.
The host was very kind, great time response and communication.
We will definitively go back and strongly recommend the apartment for a perfect stay and sight seen of Norway.
Grea t place, with lots to do in the surrounding area. Recommended
Wow, we loved our stay near the Hardangerfjord! The apartment was in a beautiful, serene riverside location in between the Fjords and the Hardangerfjord National Park.
The owner keeps the apartment in immaculate condition and it had everything we needed. The fireplace, washer and sauna were a definite plus.
The owner has very helpful and enthusiastic about providing tips and information about the area.
A totally unique experience and you won't find better value anywhere in Norway. I strongly recommend!
