We stayed at the house for 4 nights in winter, for skiing. We loved it :
- the house is spacious and can easily accommodate several families for a joined trip, or friends or a big family
- the view is amazing - after the busy slopes, it is great to enjoy a relaxing time seemingly far away from everything and yet just a short drive away
- the pool table and the sauna are nice perks to spend time on winter evenings
We also had a chance to meet Lynn - an extremely nice and gentle person.
We recommend without hesitation and would come back with pleasure
This home is absolutely beautiful and perfect for a group vacation or large family. The view is spectacular, I think it's even better than in the pictures!
The Berardo's have put a ton of work into every little detail, and as a guest you can tell. Need a towel after getting out of the sauna? There's a rack full of them by the entrance. Want a morning espresso? There's a nice machine. From the beautiful fireplace to the pool table, everything just works. As a heavy internet user, it's nice to have fast wifi too.
Book an extra night when you stay here, you won't want to go home.

About the Host, Lynn And Steve
After 20 years in the San Fransciso Bay Area, we moved to Lake Tahoe for a simpler life. We purchased this home in 1999 and after two years of planning and permitting did an extensive remodel. Because it has such incredible views of the lake, (and hence can be seen from the lake) we had to get special building permissions from a bi-state agency called Tahoe Regional Planning Agency. The house already had a contemporary elements and we decided to retain these. In this mountain home there is little need for a "mountain theme decor." Mountains, forests and lake are so dominant in the views they provide a mountain theme which sits beautifully framed in simple mimimalist architecture and interior design. You'll find this home gives you as sense of relaxation in luxury. While there are TV's in all bedrooms, the kitchen, and the living room you'll find the ever-changing views of the lake are mesmerising. They connect you to nature in an ever-relaxing way! Springtime brings views of sail boats flitting across the lake. Sumertime lake traffic increases, with sea-planes, the daily trips of the old paddle steamer and speedboats. In Fall, along Ward Creek, which sits below the house you can see a golden shimmering ribbon of the Aspen foliage which water hungry grow along the banks of the creek. An in winter, after sun-down you can see the lights of the snow cats working the slopes of Heavenly ski resort. far in the distance across the lake. These are just some of the reasons we love this house, why we'll return to it regularly and why we have so many repeat guests.
