About us:
We are a multi-national household speaking British English, American English, fluent German, and some French and Spanish. We are world travelers and want to make your stay in Portland as comfortable and pleasant as possible. We have hosted couples and singles in our room in the past and everyone leaves feeling happy with their stay.

In order to accommodate our family, the kitchen is only available to our guests during specific hours - roughly 7:30 am - 8:30 am and 5:00 pm - 10 pm during the week. We are more flexible on the weekend. In addition, we are often home during the day and will try to accommodate your needs outside of this time frame.

We do have a dog in case you are allergic.

Please tell us a little bit about yourself when you make a reservation or inquiry - where you're coming from, the nature and duration of your visit, if your group is family or friends.

We are happy to answer any questions and make recommendations for your journey.

Best,
Pam and Rob

The Neighborhood

As described above, the neighborhood is walkable, safe and quiet. There's a park within two blocks and coffee shops, grocery stores and restaurants and just a few blocks beyond that. There is plenty of free, on-street parking.

Getting around

A bus to downtown city center is just three blocks away. It's approximately three miles from downtown for our house, but there's a great neighborhood just a few blocks away! The Max Train is also a great way to get around and it is just a ten minute walk. Easy access to the free is just seven blocks away.

Other Things to Note

There's an egress window in your room which means you have safe access to outside in case of an emergency.

  • I couldn't have chosen a better place for my monthly stay! The room is lovely, modern, clean, private and comfortable. Everything as described by the hosts. Pam and Rob were welcoming, warm and treated the room as if it was off limits to themselves. The house is in a great location as well. Everything you need is within walking distance or the bus and MAX lines are just a short walk away. I definitely recommend staying here when traveling to Portland!

  • Pam and her husband were helpful hosts. The location was near several TriMet stops so it was easy to get to around the city and to/fom the airport. It was a few blocks from Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. We were gone much of the day, but had plenty of privacy at night and access to a kitchen for breakfast in the morning.

  • Being our first AirBNB experience while we were relocating and looking for a house, we were nervous. Thankfully, we found this a welcoming, clean, private space in a quiet, safe and convenient neighborhood. Having our own entrance and bath (wonderful shower!) helped this become a haven for us after exhausting house hunting expeditions. Pam & Rob were very responsive to our schedule and needs; and being around their active family actually made us miss our far-away family members much less. Highly recommended!

  • I stayed with the Neilds for a month while making the transition to living in Portland permanently. They were the most gracious hosts and made my stay comfortable and enjoyable. The whole family was kind and thoughtful, always happy to help with anything I needed and going above and beyond. They welcomed me (and my dog!) into their home like extra family members! :) The space is very private and comfortable. The neighborhood provides many amenities within walking distances (restaurants, bars, grocery stores, a wonderful dog park, etc.). The location is central and you can quickly get downtown via car, public transit, bike, or however you choose. Seriously - this is truly a wonderful place to stay in Portland. I'm going to recommend it to all my family and friends when they come to visit me!

  • Pam and Rob were thoughtful and friendly hosts. They helped me get set up in the local area and made some great recommendations for things to check out nearby based on my interests (rock climbing, food!). The room was clean, bright and very comfortable. I'm going to be coming back to Portland and would stay there again.

  • My husband and I traveled to Portland for a quasi-honeymoon lasting two weeks. The space FAR exceeded our expectations. The basement is super private, cool, and consists of a large bathroom and a most comfortable bed. They are among the nicest people we’ve met and accommodated our many requests for assistance and advice on the area. Indeed, we were worried that we were bothering them too much as they are very busy people. If that was the case, we will never know. They are incredibly gracious and we sincerely hope that they had as good of an experience having us stay with them as we had staying there. This is our first airbnb experience and we couldn’t be happier. We will recommend this place to anyone traveling to Portland. Thank you Rob and Pam for sharing your home with us. MANY thanks, Corina, Jared, & Stewart
