About this listing
This amazing villa is just perfect for your Costa Rican holiday. It is well located for all local activities, - diving, white water rafting, quad biking, snorkelling, sailing, horse back riding, zip lining, surfing.. You have your own beautiful landscaped back yard with secluded garden and swimming pool. Your only problem might be being woken by the howler monkeys!
Designer Tropical Villa situated about 5 minutes walk from the beach in a small community called Surfside.
Use the house as a base for surfing (Playa Grande and Tamarindo), rainforest tours, horse riding, diving (Catalinas) .
The house is in an expat area where there are restaurants Maxwells (across the road), Beach Shack, El Castillo, Sol y Mar. A couple of blocks walk to a western stocked supermarket and to Playa Potrero Beach. Hire a bike and you are 10 mins cycle ride from Flamingo and the bars and restaurants there.
The house is secure with bars over the front door, a state of the art motion burglar alarm, protection fencing with barb wire at the end of the garden and electric metal blinds on all of the windows.
Cable TV, internet, secluded swimming pool in a landscaped tropical garden.
This area is such a great place for people with different interests, from bird watching, to 4x4 driving the great nature of Costa Rica is on your doorstep.
The sunsets viewed from Mar y Sol in Flamingo with a cocktail in the hand is a must do. Mar y Sol is one of the top restaurants in Costa Rica so you have the finest dinging on your doorstep!
Buses do run regularly to Tamarindo, but would advise hiring bicycles or a 4x4 car if you wish to explore with more flexibility.
If you wish to have individual yoga/massage in your tropical retreat this can be organised also.
All the ingredients for a wonderfully relaxing or highly adventurous holiday! Plus the wake up call of the local howler monkeys......
All the property - inside and out (swimming pool) in secluded garden area.
Interaction with Guests
None. I have a wonderful Manager , Randall, who manages the property and will be your contact . He will greet you on arrival and if you have any problems he is easy to contact and sort any issues out.
Surfside is a lovely friendly little neighbourhood. It is predominantly an ex-pat area populated by N. Americans from the States and Canada. As such, the local bars and shops cater for Western tastes and styles.
There are buses into Flamingo and to Tamarindo via Brasilito from Surfside.
Bicycles are a good way to get around and its a 10 minute ride to Flamingo.
For greater exploring and seeing more remote beaches and towns I would recommend a car - but with 4 WD. Would also highly recommend taking the offer of a mobile phone for $10 extra.
Other Things to Note
For any bookings less than 3 days I will be charging a $50 cleaning fee. I don't charge cleaning fee for longer periods. There is no administration section in Airbnb that allows me to do this so I ask that you pay Randall if you are a short term renter on arrival.
The only house rules are to respect the house and the environment.
Keeping A/C's on all day or lights or using a lot of water is not about the bills (well, a bit) but about respecting the environment.
Please only use the electric security blinds if you leave the house for a long period. Do not use them every day, it's not necessary, and not advised to be used at night as they are very secure and would create a problem with exiting the property in an event of a fire.
The main rule is to ENJOY!
The house showing how light and airy the design is - and being walled - great for security!
I am a professional diver and have worked since 2002 all round the world - Thailand (Phi Phi), Honduras (Utila), Antigua, Grand Cayman, Malta, LA, Costa Rica. I have dived all over the world, but still have my 'wish list'.
I did work for a few years in Sydney back in my 'office' job in Marketing and New Product Development for Cosmetics.
I have my own artworks range (check out (URL HIDDEN) and natural health products , Nature Says No (check out (URL HIDDEN)
I am easy going and having backpacked round Asia and Central America, would say that I love meeting new people.
Life Motto: Grass is always Greener - just depends where you water it!
Very easy going with anybody staying - but draw the line at DIY Graffiti or the new stucco effect wall finish with diced carrots after too much alcohol from the night before!
