Outdoor entertainment

The firepit, sun beds, alfresco dining, and bbq area are great for summer trips.
A stunningly characteristic 'A' Frame home, built in 1958. The house stands strong and proud within a secure 5 acre private property in the lush and indigenous part of Nairobi. Available as the whole home to yourselves, hosted by myself and my team, whether you require a bed only, Bed and Breakfast or Full service anything is possible to make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable!

The space
This unique, characteristic home and property is located in Mukoma estate, which still boasts a very colonial sense of living, with large properties dating back 100s of years and passed through many generations of families who have worked hard at preserving the surroundings to its most natural raw sense that it still is till today. Nestled between the National park, giraffe conservancy and the city centre, it has the perfect balance of bush and city life all within minutes of each-other. Warthogs roam freely between the homes and around the estate, while the sykes monkeys, hyraxes and bush-babies find refuge and play in the perfectly formed indigenous African Olive trees. The whole house is yours, which includes 4 cosy bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, Kitchen, dinning room, Living room with an original copper fireplace and a stunning verandah which leads to an open patio and down to the lush garden, secluded and shaded by mature trees, you'll also have access to the rest of the property which includes a nature bush trail where you can spot wild birds, plants and creatures too, to sundowners on the 'Mlima' (hill) overlooking the watering hole and gardens. Whether you need a tranquil place to work from with easy access to the city, or you just need a break with friends or family, from the city hustle and bustle, this home will provide just that.

Other things to note
Please note, the rate is based on a per person, per night booking, minimum 2 pax booking required.

We have tried to keep the house as original and Eco as we can for its charm and beauty, with that in mind please note everything works but the plumbing system can struggle with larger groups when it comes to circulation of hot water. Please let us know if you need extra hot water and we will arrange the same.

Power cuts are rare and don’t usually last for long. There is no generator connection to the house so please bare this in mind when booking if that is a necessary requirement for you

Neighborhood highlights

If you get bored of exploring the indigenous forest, gardens and seasonal river banks within the property, the neighbourhood is full of fun activities and places to explore, from the Giraffe centre where you can 'kiss' a 4 legged long necked beauty, Elephant orphanage where you can giggle at the naughty playful baby elies and the National park, where you can go look for Lions and Rhinos in their natural habitat, all within the city, to shopping for local arts and crafts, discovering the hidden coffee shops and restaurants tucked away in beautiful gardens and settings, serving locally sourced and produced dishes, to learning about the history of the area, Art galleries and studios amongst many other activities that I would be more than happy to advise you on.
