The space is quiet, peaceful, & beautiful with a Story & Clark baby grand piano and many other features . It's also powered by solar energy.
NOTE ABOUT FILM LOCATION & WEDDINGS/SPECIAL EVENTS: Inquiries about location shooting, parties, or weddings must go through our location and event manager. Interaction with Guests
We look forward to meeting you. We are both often traveling, or working out of town. But either one of us or our house manager will greet you. Our dog Akbar may ask you to throw a ball. We can be social but you can always find complete privacy and solitude if you want it.
Marrakesh House is on a hill above historic Culver City/Sony studios with views out to Venice Beach/Pacific Ocean, Hollywood and Century City. The house borders a new California State park with hiking trails, stairs (for exercise) and sweeping views of all of Los Angeles.
Private parking at house (and electric car charging). A bus comes to the State Park next door to us from the Expo line metro in Culver City about one mile away. If you interested in renting an electric car or bike while you are here, let us know. Uber and Lyft are great options for getting around.
Other Things to Note
We have 7 chickens on property (in hen house but occasionally foraging in yard) as well as a cattle dog who likes to play catch - so visiting pets are a no-go. Depending on the week, we sometimes have other rooms for rent and on occasion the whole house is available. See other listings. Temporary stays by travelers are the best fit for us and we've priced below market to accommodate them.
Please, be sure your Airbnb profile is complete with a photo of yourself & asomef information about who you are. We are happy to welcome you into our home, and like to know a bit about you before your arrival.
NOTE ABOUT FILM LOCATION & WEDDINGS/SPECIAL EVENTS: Inquiries about using our house as a film location or wedding, must go through our location manager (Bob); it's his job to coordinate events with you, pricing (which is significantly higher than renting a room to sleep in), & permits. We cannot book this through Airbnb! Check the internet for Marrakesh House.
We love to share our space with guests who enjoy & respect a private home. You will have your private bedroom & access to the living areas of our house so cleanliness is a must. Common sense & awareness work as wonderful guidelines for your stay. Please, keep shared areas clean; respect our neighbors & property; & keep to shared spaces in the house & yard. Thanks!
The Marrakech house is just magical. I was looking for something different and this really hit the mark. While I only stayed one night Chris and his house manager Bob were friendly and welcoming and I had everything that I needed for a nice stay. Also the bed was really really comfortable.
The Marrakesh House is a ShangriLa- Right smack dab in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the Megatropolis that is LA. Staying here made my trip to Los Angeles more of a business/pleasure trip than the business trip it was! The layout of this place is very open and spacious, it is perfectly accommodating for many people to enjoy. The two temples created by the owner were truly inspiring- made with recycled goods into multi-dimensional amazing artwork. I found my time here very meditative and restorative.
Bob was more than accommodating- Meeting all my needs and answering any questions about local places to eat etc..
it was quiet and peaceful, everything I needed.
My favorite place to stay in Los Angeles!
The house is wonderful. The room was perfect. The hosts were over the top friendly. Easy in and out, all amenities I needed. Will definitely come back to stay longer.
This is Marrakesh House is so unique, quiet and mystery, full of oriental charm. It is a perfect place to do meditation and retreat from the noise of the city. Also the hill where the house is located is a friendly place for camping and working out. Chris is a simple and kind host. I just regretted that we didn't have much communication, because I didn't drive and had to spend a lot of time in the public transportation everyday!
