Edelweiss is a lovely country home on the banks of beautiful Smith Creek, yet only minutes from the fabulous shopping and dining of downtown Wimberley. This spacious house is perfect for family and friend gatherings. Take a stroll through the 12 acres of creek-side nature, watch the deer graze as you enjoy your morning coffee, strum your guitar beside the fire pit, challenge your friends to a game of pool, watch your kiddos play in the tree house, have a family bbq on the gorgeous back deck, snuggle up by the fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa, and feel the stress of your daily life melt away.
The name Edelweiss belongs to a delicate white flower that grows in the Alps, made famous in The Sound of Music. From the morning songs of the sweet, chirping birds to the evening orchestra courtesy of the frogs and toads along the creek, we like to say that the Hill Country is alive with the sound of music! Here you get the privacy and serenity of a country home with all the amenities of modern life. During the house remodel the kitchen was built from scratch, and some of the furniture was even hand made by the owner, a professional woodworker. The house has two and a half baths, three bedrooms (king, queen, and three twin beds), plus a large game room with two queen futons, games for the kids, and a pool table. Add that to the spacious living room with a fold-out couch, dining room with a table for 8, and the large deck with a beautiful hand-made picnic table, and you’ve got the perfect space for your family and friend retreat! At Edelweiss the owners are environmentally conscious. They offer full recycling, use environmentally friendly dish soap, provide recycled paper products, offer a reverse-osmosis filtration system on the kitchen sink to eliminate the need for bottled water, and landscape with native low-water plants.
We are confident that Edelweiss will exceed your expectations. Just read some of the comments from the previous guests below. The owners really go out of their way to add those special touches to make your trip complete, such as providing firewood for the fire pit, and keeping the kitchen stocked with condiments and basics that you may have forgotten. If their chickens have worked overtime, you may even find fresh, organic eggs in the fridge. You won’t want to leave Edelweiss, but you can always come back for another visit!
Pets allowed at $50 per pet and we ask that you leave cash or check for the pet fee with the keys upon checkout. Pets must be declared to the owners in advance, preferably at the time of booking. We ask that if dogs are left unattended at the house that they be crated. Thanks!

“Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful home. We really enjoyed it. The kitchen is fantastic! Couldn’t have asked for anything else in the house. All the convenience of home.”

“ABSOLUTELY loved the décor. Wonderful art and books. The kitchen is a marvel, and the game room and pool table provided lots of fun. Although we didn’t bring our pooch, we are happy to know that some hosts provide such excellent options for the fur kids.”
“Thank you! This is a great space for family together time. We appreciate all the kid stuff, especially the blocks. I really like the house decorations and all the beds were very comfortable.”
“This was our 2nd time here for our annual girls’ weekend and we loved it. We plan on coming back for many years to come.”
We had a lovely stay. Jennifer and Gregory left a pack and play for our daughter, which was very kind and they were helpful with our questions while we were there. The house is lovely, and despite there being a lot rain during our stay we were all still happy and relaxed! Would like to stay again.
Great place! Gregory and Jennifer were excellent hosts - everything was as described. Definitely a weekend to remember.
Jennifer and Gregory were excellent hosts and the house was perfect for a girls' weekend trip with six of my friends. We had tons of space and enjoyed the outdoor areas, tree house and game room especially. They even left us fresh eggs from their chickens for us to enjoy over the weekend. I would definitely recommend the hosts and this home to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Wimberley/the hill country.
I started looking for a quiet getaway place for my husband's 30th birthday at the beginning of December. I am usually really thorough with these hunts for good vacation homes. I was looking for nice entertaining space since we were inviting friends, nice outdoor space, enough sleeping room and good scenery. I found it ALL at Eidelweiss!!!! The photos are So accurate and the home is just lovely. The entire property is like a fairytale in the canyon. We enjoyed a nice walk to the creek and treehouse and YES 30-40 year old's climbed the treehouse and re-claimed our youth! Everyone was truly enchanted by the experience. We got to cookout together and make smores at night by firepit. Time with friends under this setting could not have been better. Thanks SO much Jennifer & Gregory. Your home and property is amazing!!!!!!!!!!! We would love to return.
P.S. King mattress was SOOO comfy!
We rented this lovely home for my daughter's "Glaming/Bachelorette weekend." The location was amazing, and pictures don't do the house justice! It was lovely, even decorated for Christmas, clean and warm and inviting. It was a true home away from home. We certainly will be looking for excuses to rent again!
The owners were friends, accommodating and flexible. Everything was as represented.
Thank you to Jennifer and Gregory for sharing this wonderful property and giving us a super experience!!
Jennifer and Gregory's Beautiful Creekside Country Home was the perfect place for our group of friends to meet, relax, and enjoy Texas hill country. We were in the area for the USGP at COTA, but found that staying in this beautiful home would have made the trip worthwhile, all on its own! The house is huge, well furnished, and best of all; very very peaceful. I've just arrived home and am already dreaming of my next visit!
We had a wonderful stay at Jennifer and Gregory's Country home. There was plenty of space for all of us and the house was very well maintained. Weather was perfect and we hope to get back there again next year.
Be sure to walk down to the tree house if you have kids. Our son loved it - I think we may have to build one at out house now :-)
I would recommend this house to other people looking for a Texas hill country experience.
We enjoyed our stay...again!
We stayed here with our two young kids (2 and 4 yo), my husband's sister and her kids (12 and 14 yo), my parents, and my brother. The house was large enough to accommodate everyone comfortably. The layout was perfect for socializing, and we really enjoyed being outside when the weather allowed. We needed a house that could be its own entertainment with our little kids, since so many of the activities in the area (ziplining, tubing, etc) were not really age appropriate for them.
The hosts make everything very easy, from a binder stuffed with information about things to eat, see and swim in the Wimberley area, to sports equipment for outdoor fun. We fell in love with Wimberley, and we had a wonderful time together in the red house. No one wanted to leave.
My husband and I just needed to escape the hub-bub of the city and the Texas summer heat with a long weekend spent in Hill Country swimming holes under the shade of Cyprus and Oak trees... and we wanted to bring along four friends (and their husbands), two dogs and a toddler! I'm so glad we found Jennifer & Gregory's house.
The house is gorgeous, private and comfortable with plenty of room to accommodate all of us without stepping on each other, (the adults could play games until midnight while the baby slept), and the dogs could play in the fenced back yard. We loved the pool table and the games.
Thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful, spacious property on our daily walks down to the creek or sitting under the stars around the fire pit out back. The kitchen was well appointed and allowed plenty of room to cook for the entire hoard.
We all appreciated the three bathrooms (2 full, 1 half) and big comfortable couches. The high ceilings and big beautiful windows kept the whole house bright during the day - a great way to wake up!
We planned to do a lot in Wimberley (shopping, dining, swimming) but spent most of the trip chatting around the big, welcoming table or on the lawn at the Blue Hole (right down the road)!
Jennifer and Gregory were easy to communicate with, and booking was a piece of cake.
On the final morning, gathering up our bags and packing the cars for the trip back to Houston, we polled our friends. Everyone agreed that we have to do it again and we should definitely come back here... The masses have spoken, and Jennifer and Gregory will certainly be hearing from us next Summer (if not before...)!
Thanks again for a perfect, relaxing getaway in your beautiful home.
