Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Funky, tidy 23 year old country cabin on 120 acres of farmland & woods in a private, quiet rural setting. It's cozy, 950 sq ft, built with stone and wood. Open concept with a two story fireplace, porch fireplace, firepit, and open loft for sleeping (1 bed), with spiral stairs, lots of windows, walnut floors and trim, oak beams and pine kitchen tops. Shower is big and open, with doors opening to a back deck for outdoor showering. Beautiful covered porch overlooking rolling meadows and woods.

The space
The cabin overlooks 30 acres of rolling meadows with woods beyond, and is tucked into woods in the back of the house. The property is on 120 rolling acres - about 30 of meadows and 90 of woods) with about 5 miles of walking or skiing trails that go through the woods, around unusual sandstone boulder bluffs, and along the meadows. The kitchen is well equipped, television has analog channels and DVD player, and internet via satellite is 15 gig capable of Zoom, etc... One King bed is Tempur-Pedic. Just installed A.C.

Guest access
The surrounding roads are very quiet save for occasional farm machinery "traffic", and are very hilly with many curves. Front or four wheel drive is highly recommended especially with any snow on the ground. The last 200 feet or so of the property's gravel driveway is steep, followed by a circular, flat, drive-around that's about a 30 foot walk to the porch.

Other things to note
--As shown in the photos, the house has very large boulders in the front right up to the house, and the porch is, in places, about ten feet above. It's a unique and cool setting, BUT.....even though there are steel railings around the porch and loft sleeping areas, and that the upstairs is accessed by custom spiral stairs, please understand that the property is not suitable for children who could climb over the railings or slip on large boulders and rock piles. It's best for a quiet, private, and peaceful getaway for a couple.
House trained dogs are welcome as long as guests keep them off the bedding, but sorry, we can't accept cats.
--We do not provide firewood, however guests are welcome to cut any downed wood on the property for use in the fireplaces (one inside, one outside on the deck) or firepit about 100 feet from the house.
--Please be aware that in the Spring of ‘24 we removed the stone steps going from the driveway to the house entry and porch and replaced them with concrete steps. This makes it much easier to walk to the house from the driveway, but the steps are slightly pitched and there is no railing. The photos show the new concrete steps.
--Satellite internet and phone service with most carriers is okay here, but not as fast or reliable as in metro areas. Heavy rains or snow may temporarily weaken or cut out the service while she, Nature, is doing her thing. There is also a smaller propane fueled grill on the front deck.
