Voted “Coolest AirBnb in Virginia” by Condé Nast www.cntraveler.com/gallery/best-airbnbs-in-the-us
Nestled amongst a stand of mature hardwood trees, atop a bluff overlooking the scenic Appomattox River, this cozy cabin is a great place to let your stress melt away. Originally built in the 1800's and moved to its current location in the 1970's, it offers old-school charm and modern comfort.
The space
The cabin is a half-mile from the road, and surrounded by beautiful, old trees. All windows have screens, so it's easy to open them and listen to the birds, breeze, and the river. While everything is set up for a comfortable and easy stay, there are a few things to remember: The stairs are as old as they are beautiful, they're steep and have shallow treads. Be careful, take it slow, and you'll be fine! Our 50 acres sit in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and there are some steep inclines on the trails. Like the stairs, take it slow and you'll be fine! Your children are most welcome to join you! We checked "Not Suitable" due to the stairs being open from the bedroom with no door or means to prevent access.
Guest access
You'll have 50 acres to yourself. If you cross the river, a creek, or a paved road then you've gone too far. Enjoy!
Other things to note
This cabin is pet friendly with a pet fee of $100.

We love a great weekend getaway. Our goal is to provide the experience we ourselves are looking for every time we hop in the car to go explore a new area, or relax in a familiar setting. We want our guests to enjoy the calming quiet we look forward to whenever we're not in these magical woods.
