Meadow Rock Farm is a timber frame made of white, red, and pin oak beams that were harvested in the Mid-Atlantic area. Since the house is a true timber frame, all of the beams are created with only wood joinery and secured with hardwood pegs. The beams are a highlight in the house creating very large open spaces.

The house features a spacious great room and dining areas with the ceilings soaring 30 feet to the third-floor loft. The fireplace is made of Maryland flagstone on the first floor. The kitchen includes a commercial range and a walnut bar top that is 2 inches thick with wood that had been in storage since the Depression.

The house is filled with country antiques and family heirlooms. It has 6 bedrooms, comfortably sleeping 20 people, and 4 full bathrooms. The King, Queen, and Double sized beds feature a feather mattress topper, 100% cotton sheeting, and down comforters. Smart TVs are located on the third-floor loft, 2nd-floor computer room, and first-floor great room. There is wireless WiFi throughout the house and smart TV’s for your entertainment needs.

The cedar exterior of the house complements the woodland setting. Patios of stone and brick overlook the meadow and a fire pit. There are extensive gardens that include roses, perennials, succulents, hostas, and a kitchen herb garden.

We have free onsite parking for guests.

Neighborhood highlights

Located in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains in western Pennsylvania, Meadow Rock Farm is a peaceful and tranquil country estate. We are only 25 miles (about a 45-minute drive due to traffic and the rivers) to Downtown Pittsburgh and the Strip District, and a 15-mile commute to Cranberry Township.

We are within easy driving distance to the following wedding venues: Avenue in Sarver, Armstrong Farms, White Barn, Lingrow Farm, Succop Conservancy, Butler Country Club, and The Mansion.

Saxonburg is a 5-minute drive and our closest town, although it is more like a village. Its founder, John Roebling, invented the cable which was used to build the Brooklyn Bridge. Visit its historic buildings, antique and gift shops, specialty food shops, and restaurants.

Pittsburgh is filled with great museums (Andy Warhol, Mattress Factory, Carnegie Museum of Natural History and Art, Heinz History Museum to name a few), plus a great food scene. While visiting in the summer, catch a Pirate's baseball game at PNC Park. The Cultural District includes the Byham Theater, Benedum, and Heinz Hall for theatre, ballet, and symphony performances.

Several State Parks are a 30-minute drive: McConnells Mills for hiking and rappelling, and Moraine State Park for biking, hiking, and fishing/boating rentals, and in the winter when there is snow, cross-country skiing, ice fishing, and snowmobiling are options. The Rails to Trails running and biking trail is about a 15-minute drive to a convenient parking lot.

Rhett and I are cultural travelers. We love Europe, the beach with our family, beautiful gardens, desert hikes, and sushi. We enjoy the feel of feather beds, pillows, and down comforters. A good cup of coffee in the morning, family discussions around the table, and relaxing by the fire in the evening are perfect days. Rhett and I are sure you will enjoy the privacy and space Meadow Rock Farm and 14 Henry Ln have to offer.
