Charming guest cottage in downtown Watkinsville, just a few miles outside of Athens, Georgia. A wonderful retreat full of unique details and charm.Enjoy relaxing on the front porch swing or in the private patio with hot tub. Inside are 18 ft. vaulted ceilings with rough hewn beams, antique windows, hardwood floors, and attention to detail.The kitchen is nicely equipped with full sized appliances and bar seating.The sleeping loft has privacy and great views with a queen bed and plenty of storage.

The space
The bathroom has a large walk in tiled shower and there is on demand hot water. Although truly a guest cottage there is one "tiny house" aspect to our space - the stairs are very, very steep and makes this not a good fit for anyone with mobility issues, for young children, or pets.

Other things to note
We use a professional cleaner between each guest to make sure you come into a clean and tidy space. We also may have flexibility on check in and check out times depending on other guests coming and our cleaning schedule but please don't hesitate to ask the day of your check in if we can accommodate you on this.

Neighborhood highlights

The cottage is on an acre and half property with a pecan grove and a 1920's Farmhouse (where we live). Within walking distance of the cottage, are 12 restaurants and coffee shops and a wonderful bakery. We are just down the road from Wire Park, the new mixed use development with even more shopping and restaurants coming to the area. There are also boutiques and some antique shops. Watkinsville is known as "The Art Land of Georgia" and we have public art on display throughout the town and some galleries. We also have OCAF, a non profit art foundation that has regular exhibits and shows with artists from around the Southeastern United States. There are great biking spots on country roads (we both love to cycle and can give suggestions for some good routes). There are also several parks within walking distance including Watkinsville Woods which is cool and shady even during Georgia summers. Close by is UGA with all of the sporting activities (Football stadium and Coliseum both 8 miles) - we are actually within a few minutes of the UGA equestrian center (4 miles). We are a short drive from the State Botanical Gardens (4 miles) and the Georgia Museum of Art (7 miles). Athens, about a 10 minute drive away has a great music scene and lots of shopping opportunities. As avid antiquers, we can also share some great spots all within less than 30 minutes away.
