I love my condo, and think you will too! I invite you to scroll down to read all the glowing reviews. I am currently not renting past June 2015, my apologies.
Wonderful leather sectional, blackout curtains, blu-ray player with Netflix & Hulu Plus, full HD-DVR cable w/ HBO, Showtime, Starz and On Demand.
This renovated condo with a million-dollar view will be everything you need for your Charlottesville weekend. It's located in the historic downtown neighborhood of Belmont--just a half mile to some of the city's best restaurants, and one mile to the downtown mall (a nice, SAFE walk).
The condo is on the top floor (24 steps, no elevator) of a quiet, two-building complex called Monticello Overlook Condominiums, located just off Monticello Avenue (very convenient to I-64, UVA and downtown). The views from my condo balcony are unparalleled; you are set on a steep hillside, facing southwest towards Monticello, Carters Mountain and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Included in the rental fee is two parking spaces in the convenient parking lot in front of my building. The spaces are not reserved, but there are NEVER any issues with overcrowding.
The interior has all the trimmings (granite, hardwood floors, nice modern furniture, recently renovated master bath). I do have a small, and very clean, dog that lives with me, but she will obviously not be staying there when you have the rental. I make sure to clean thoroughly before my guests check in, and I provide all the towels, linens and paper products you will need (toilet paper, q-tips, paper towels, trash bags). You'll provide your own bath toiletries and any food and drink that you'd like to consume during your stay (I do have a Brita cooler for water though). Please view my photos and captions, and feel free to ask me any questions!
Interaction with Guests
I ususally don't meet my guests unless they request it. I have them select a 4-digit code for the deadbolt, program it for them the day of check in, and am available via phone and email for any questions they should have during their stay. I also have little notes up around the place and an informational welcome letter that I set out in the living room.
Belmont is a fabulous historic neighborhood with parks (three parks within one-third mile of my condo) and great for walking. It's a little hilly, but I like it for those quads! The main drag, Monticello Avenue, is nice and flat, and will lead you straight to the little downtown Belmont area (.6 mi), and the historic Charlottesville downtown mall area (1 mi).
There is a bus stop less than 500 ft. away! Route 3 (blue) Charlottesville Transit Service. Stop for Route 1 (orange) is .2 miles away. (website hidden)
Taxis downtown are normally $7 or $8 with tip.
And of course, parking is always convenient and available at the condo complex.
No gatherings over six people please; guest is responsible for all costs associated with repairing or replacing any furniture, fixtures/accessories or surfaces that are damaged.
Heather's condo was just as described-- very lovely and beautiful views. We did not use the second bedroom but I understood there was a futon instead of a bed. It was perfect for my husband and me to stay during our son's UVA parent weekend. Coffee was out and she even came to get the tv working after I pressed some wrong buttons and caused an error.
I couldn't have asked for a better host or better accommodations. Heather got me all the information in a timely manner. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. The apartment was spotless and very comfortable. I loved the view from the balcony. Everything about the apartment was set for ease and comfort.
Heather's condo was simply perfect! It was exactly as pictured. She left it immaculately clean with everything clearly marked. She even left coffee and creamer for us! The condo has a beautiful view of the mountains, tucked away outside Charlottesville but very easy to get to the downtown mall (5 mins), the corner, and grounds (10 mins). The cab ride to the University was only around $9. Heather's decor in the condo is lovely. She was also wonderful to communicate with and easy to reach with questions. I highly recommend her place and will absolutely stay there again when I return to Charlottesville.
Fantastic place to stay! Heather is a great communicator and responded promptly to my emails & texts. I love that there is a code to get in rather than trying to find a key under a tacky turtle statue. The pictures are accurate and the location is perfect. Very close to the downtown mall! Easy free parking. Nice neighborhood. Very quiet. Wifi a plus. Apartment is clean and beautifully decorated. We felt like we were staying at a friends home. After this experience, hotel stays will not be an option for us. As a catering manager I have a built in "attention to detail" nature. This was perfect in every way. Thanks Heather!
This was my first time using airbnb and it didn't dissappoint. It's a 5 minute drive to downtown and Monticello which was convenient. Her place was clean and nice. Bed and couch were very comfy. Everything ((website hidden), wi-fi, refridgerator, etc.) worked and came as advertised. Heather was helpful and easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend her place to anyone.
Overall was a good stay. Close to town and the highway. Unlike with my prior experiences, it looked like the owner actually lived there part time and rented part time which was unusual. There was still garbage in the bedroom bathroom which my boyfriend and I thought was a little bizarre considering the amount we spent to stay there. Otherwise it was comfortable and nicely decorated.
Thanks for the feedback Larissa! I make it a point to always leave all the garbage cans empty before my guests check in and missed that this one time--i do apologize! And as my profile states, I live in my condo full-time and rent it out when I'm travelling, as well as during the really busy weekends when hotels in C'ville are sold out/crazy expensive. I enjoy providing a nice, big place for couples and parties of 2-3 that is about half what the hotels in town would charge you, and I try to keep my personal things to a minimum so you're not constantly reminded that it's a home. Thanks again for your reservation, and I hope you have a great day!
I am a graduate of UVA and have lived in Charlottesville for the past 15 years. I love this city, and want to provide visitors with an alternative to the costly (and boring) hotels in the area. I do live in this condo full time, with my 15-pound Chihuahua/Dachshund mix Winnie, and have owned it since March 2008.
All of your high-quality linens and towels will be freshly washed before your arrival, and all surfaces will be clean. You'll love staying in my top-floor, quiet condo, with awesome views and easy accessibility to C'ville's greatest spots. Cheers!
