Dunworley is on the breathtaking Seven Heads Peninsula, part of the Wild Atlantic Way route.
A sandy tidal beach lies just a moment's walk away and offers a tranquil swim, a rugged coastline climb, or just a wander around the beach.
The walks along our headland are absolutely incredible, with a 17th century watch tower, a secluded cove and a salt tower among it's delights.
The surrounding countryside is dotted with small colourful towns and villages, which provide a range of food from irish pub grub to high restaurant quality standard.
Clonakilty, the home of Michael Collins, is just seven miles from the cottage and has a wide variety of delicious restaurants and, in particular, a traditional Irish pub where many renowned bands play, De Barra's.
There is also the spoiling Incheydoney Spa with an indoor sea water pool and a thalassic health spa.
Bandon and Lisselan offer great golf clubs - Bandon (18 holes) and Lisselan (six holes).
Bandon also offers fishing on the sea trout and salmon river, day passes are available from Michael O'Reagan.
Kilcoleman fishery is well worth the day. Contact David Lamb.
You can follow the Wild Atlantic Way from Dunworley to Kinsale which well worth the trip and a stunning drive.
Be it during the day for some sightseeing (from 17th century forts to rugged walks along the headlands Kinsale is a haven for tourists) or by night for an uplifting irish experience, lively pubs host some excellent bands.
Courtmacsherry is another beautiful harbour town, just 5 miles away and has sailing, riding, sea fishing, and windsurfing facilities along the beautiful strand.
Barryroe Co-Op is the nearest shop, 2.5 miles away.
And the nearest pub is 1.5 miles away.
You need a car in Ireland!

We had a wonderful weekend at the cottage. The setting was beautiful and Gilly was a great host. Would definitely recommend it!
We had a wonderful time at Gilly’s coach house. It’s in a perfect location right next to a lovely beach. Gilly had the fire lighting for our arrival and lovely freshly-picked garden salad and a bowl of dirty-shelled hens eggs left out for us too. The house is really cosy and beautifully restored – we really recommend this place for a perfect getaway by the sea.
Very enjoyable stay and a picturesque location. The cottage is a bit of utter tranquillity in the world and you couldn't ask for better scenery. The eggs and leaves were very welcome and utterly delicious. Easy to find if you put dunworly beach into (website hidden) maps but you may find yourself being taken down the bothairíns! Perfect for a birthday weekend as in our case or a romantic trip away.
Dunworley is amazing, I cannot fault the place. We were delayed arriving on our 1st evening, but when we arrived the stove was on & the cottage was so cosy & welcoming. . The cottage is idyllic, with the most beautiful walks & gorgeous drives close by. Gilly & her husband will eave you be to your own devices, or give you guidance on the local walks, it's up to you how involved they are. We went to escape for a few nights & this is the perfect place for that. If you're debating a stay in West Cork this is an amazing hideaway & I could not recommend it highly enough.
This is exactly what AirBnB is about. A shining example. A beautiful charming lofted cottage hidden away in the most beautiful landscape imaginable. A real find. The cottage itself is really stylishly fitted out, has everything you'd ever need and is really a home from home. Gilly & Richard are the perfect hosts. There when you need them and respectfully leave you alone if that's what you want too. I arrives on the coldest darkest winter night to find a roaring fire in the stove, Gilly had turned on an electric blanket in the bed and a kitchen stocked with their own fresh eggs and other essentials. If you are lucky enough to have clicked on this place then trust me. Book it. There is nothing here that'll disappoint and plenty to make you smile and feel at home
We had a wonderful time at the Coach House. Gilly is a great host and she furnished this house with a lot of love. The accomodation is really cosy and the bed was very comfy! It is tidy and clean. Thank you for this experience!
We spent the most beautiful Christmas in Gilly's Coach House Cottage. The most beautiful location and the cottage was just the perfect romantic place for us. The fire was burning in the stove and Gilly welcomed us with a big smile and open arms.
Both Gilly and Richard were absolutely fantastic! Any questions we had in advance, Gilly replied to me almost instantly.
Anything we needed during our stay, they helped us out.
We enjoyed the privacy yet we knew someone was next door if we needed any help or just a good old chat.
Gilly gave us a great tip for a beautiful and we were stunned by the views.
The cottage is cosy and beautifully decorated. We immediately felt HOME. And Christmas and the entire week we stayed could have not been better.
We already know that we will back when the weather is warmer so we can go for a swim in the sea..... :) Gilly & Richard, you made it possible! Lots of love and see you soon :)
