I had the incredible luck of finding Rachelle as my host in London. This was my first Airbnb experience and it exceeded all my expectations. The location is perfect - very central, and Rachelle was the perfect host - extremely helpful, friendly and easygoing. I stayed for over a month, and it was hard to say goodbye!
The reservation was canceled 7 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The room was perfect, it was exactly like the photos. The house was clean and bathroom was fine too. I slept here for 4 nights and everything went well. Really close to King's Cross Tube Station! Rachelle was very nice especially the first day, when we arrived with 3h delay caused by traffic on the motorway (we landed at Stansted). Recommended!
Rachelle was a really nice host. We had numbers of fun chats while our stay. The place is really convenient with regards to location. Close to the station (closest entrance is within 5mins walk), lots of buses around. Kings Cross was a really good station to travel around as it connects to a lot of lines. Went to Paris after London and was close to St Pancras International (15 mins walk with my suitcase) which helped me with not getting up too early ;-P. We were out all day and went back really late at night everyday but did not feel so dangerous. Close to the canal and a nice breakfast spot Caravan (cafe)!
Rachelle is a very nice person and we had many nice chats. The area is great for exploring London as it's close enough to King's Cross/ St Pancras station (Northern, Victoria, Circle, Hammersmith, Piccadilly lines). The area has cleaned up a lot but of course not as glamorous as Covent Garden or Kensington area. You get homeless/ drunk people around at nights, so be weary during winter when the sun goes down early. In the summer, it's fine.
As for the apartment, do ask for updated pictures. Unfortunately, it was quite a mess when I was there because Rachelle was renovating. There was no proper living or kitchen area so only place I could relax after a long day at work was to sit on the bed. As for cleanliness, it was dusty. Not sure if it's just because it's London, but lots of dust-bunnies. I did sweep the floor myself a couple of times as I stayed for a longer period.
Overall, I would recommend it for budget travelers to London.
Rachelle was very nice and hospitable. The room is small, but big enough for a double bed (very good), a closet, a drawer, a tiny desk and a chair. The latter two are pretty rare at Air BnB places, but very useful if you need to work during travel. Wifi was fast enough for (website hidden) calls with video.
Had a great time in London thanks to Rachelle and her welcoming generosity. My luggage had been lost upon arrival so it would have been hell without a friend in town to help. The flat is cosy and very well located and Rachelle is a perfect host.
Great base for exploring London.
I spent a week here. The place is about a 7-minute walk away from the best-connected Tube station.
The bed was comfy, the room was clean and quiet, everything worked out great. I'd happily stay here again.
I had a great stay here with rachelle. After landing from a 24hr flight and arriving early it was exacly what i needed. Great location and very comfortable. I took the train to Paris at the end of my stay and once again the location was perfect. Rachelle was very helpful and friendly and i would recommend staying here.
I was staying alone in Rachelles appartment, as she wasn´t there. The bumper was broken, so I had a bit trouble with the water, but besides that it was ok. The appartment is quite nice. It was a bitt dusty (kitchen and bathroom) so if you are very picky, this could be a problem for somebody. Besides that it was a comfortable stay for me, cause Kings Cross station is around the corner and you are quickly at e.g. Picadilly Station or the other sightseeing places by tube. The area is ok and the house is very safe, cause there is a gate and a door to pass through to get to the appartment door. As Rachelle wasn´t there I got the keys for the flat from another guy. Was a very nice welcome. So I can recommend staying in Rachelles house.
