We keep to ourselves, but are also available to show you the lovely walks up the headland, bring you around the organically minded garden etc...
Dunworley is on the breathtaking Seven Heads Peninsula, part of the Wild Atlantic Way route.
A sandy tidal beach lies just a moment's walk away and offers a tranquil swim, a rugged coastline climb, or just a wander around the beach.
The walks along our headland are absolutely incredible, with a 17th century watch tower, a secluded cove and a salt tower among it's delights.
The surrounding countryside is dotted with small colourful towns and villages, which provide a range of food from irish pub grub to high restaurant quality standard.
Clonakilty, the home of Michael Collins, is just seven miles from the cottage and has a wide variety of delicious restaurants and, in particular, a traditional Irish pub where many renowned bands play, De Barra's.
There is also the spoiling Incheydoney Spa with an indoor sea water pool and a thalassic health spa.
Bandon and Lisselan offer great golf clubs - Bandon (18 holes) and Lisselan (six holes).
Bandon also offers fishing on the sea trout and salmon river, day passes are available from Michael O'Reagan.
Kilcoleman fishery is well worth the day. Contact David Lamb.
You can follow the Wild Atlantic Way from Dunworley to Kinsale which well worth the trip and a stunning drive.
Be it during the day for some sightseeing (from 17th century forts to rugged walks along the headlands Kinsale is a haven for tourists) or by night for an uplifting irish experience, lively pubs host some excellent bands.
Courtmacsherry is another beautiful harbour town, just 5 miles away and has sailing, riding, sea fishing, and windsurfing facilities along the beautiful strand.
Barryroe Co-Op is the nearest shop, 2.5 miles away.
And the nearest pub is 1.5 miles away.
You need a car in Ireland!

Vielen Dank Gilly, es es traumhaft schön bei Euch, wir kommen gerne wieder.
This cottage was amazing! The homemade dinner was awesome and well worth it. The location was also fantastic and the beach just around the corner is beautiful! The second night we used the kitchen which was very well stocked and Gilly gave us some fresh fruit and veggies from her garden.
Gilly arrived just as we did and assured us we had the right place... a charming farmstead not far from Dunworly Beach in south Cork near Clonakilty. The accommodation, itself, is a delightful, old stone cottage, comfortably and colorfully furnished, with fluffy down comforters on the beds in the three spacious bedrooms. There is a small kitchen area suitable for preparing simple meals, a dining area, and a living room with plenty of comfy seating. The situation is lovely and Gilly was helpful and hospitable without hovering over us.
Staying at Gilly's cottage was hands down the most memorable experience of our Ireland Trip! From the hearty welcome to the dinner she prepared on our last night, everything was perfect. The weather cooperated and we were able to pop down to the beach for a picnic and well fortified with Jameson, we braved the surf for a dip and investigated the caves at low tide. Getting there is a driving challenge but well worth the effort. The cottage is eclectic to say the least, but has a distinct charm and the gardens, cows and fresh from the garden meals give you that "I'm in touch with the real Ireland" feel which was a great counterpoint to our city experience in Dublin. The surrounding towns and their pubs were a bit of a disappointment as they closed early and there was no folk music we could find. Plan on stopping at a local grocery and bring your own snacks, sandwich makings and booze/beer. Gilly's personality is dynamic, fun and slightly off-beat. She not only cooked for us, but we insisted she and her daughter ate with us and we had a great time! Highly recommended for a 2-3 night stay and you must have Gilly cook for you!
A great welcome from Gilly. Throughout our stay she was super helpful. The west cottage is simply put, gorgeous. The photos - beautiful as they are - don't come close to doing the space and location justice... GLORIOUS. Lovely beaches and walks. We didn't want to leave Dunworley, who would?! Except for a meal at Deasy's which is a must for sure.
This place was exactly as advertised...beautiful, quiet, relaxing. Dunworley beach was incredible and only a few steps away. This was truly authentic Ireland. Gilly was there when we arrived to introduce us to the cottage and answered any questions we had; there was fresh eggs and jam provided. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone who really wants to be in "real" Ireland.
We had a wonderful time in Gilly's cottage. The location was remote and idyllic. The cottage was very comfortable and perfectly suited us. Our hosts gave us fresh supplies from their garden each day.
