A beautiful mid-century retreat tucked in the hills of Connecticut.
Designed and built by a Yale architect who studied under Louis Kahn, and Frank Llyod Wright. With beams that stretch the width of the house and gorgeous pine ceilings. This house is a true gem. Positioned on a ridge at the edge of a secluded state park complete with hiking trails, and bucolic vistas. The house is reminiscent of the Yamagoya, Japanese mountain Huts.

The space
An Open living /dining Floor plan, newly remodeled in a Sleek black. Perfect for entertaining, or the aspiring chef. An expansive natural granite fireplace quarried from local Stoney Creek Granite. On the Lower Level, you will find an additional bedroom, and bathroom along with a media/tv room.

Guest access
You will have the whole house to yourself! Should you need anything urgently, I do stay in the barn apartment from time to time.

Other things to note
The house runs on a well and septic system. So be mindful of what you put down the drain.
nothing other than toilet paper please!The house is set in the woods so there will be branches that fall/ leaves / wildlife. there is no real yard as the front is covered in mostly pachysandra.

The neighborhood is fantastic and a very established suburb of Northford. You're a 5-min drive to Northford and a 5-minute drive to the historic town of Durham. The home is situated on half an acre. Close enough to everything but further enough way for that peace and quiet. We are in the Heart of the CT wine trail with Three Wineries within 10mins. There are Horse stables and riding lessons just across the street. Check out my local guidebook for more things to see and do in the area.
