Retired forester, now gardener, sprout grower, chef (sous ma femme) and carpenter.
Jenn is a retired chef and ex-island girl.
I was a typical guy, happy to hang out at home. A lawn chair and a can of beer was my idea of a vacation. Then, twelve years ago, Jenn asked where I wanted to go. I offered "How about New Zealand?" She replied "How about Paris?" I suggested "Thailand?" She doubled "Paris." "Machu Picchu?" "Paris." So we went and I am hooked. We have been over five times; ten days to four months. Dunnow the reason; maybe it is the food. We were just there this winter on the riviera and wandering about. We will go again, maybe to Spain or Florence. Or maybe you can suggest somewhere else where great food is a cultural essential.
Our problem now is that we have taken on major garden projects, veggie and landscape, so we can only travel in the non-growing, non-flooding periods. Our Airbnb is a fill-in where we hope to offer some of our experience of France, Italy and Spain. Our style is to welcome you as a long-known, valued friend to whom we would always offer the best of ourselves.

During your stay
Our style is to treat everyone as if they were long-time, honoured friends; we think that everyone, regardless of who they are or how they have traveled, deserves some luxury. As this is our home we will always be on the property while you stay; if you have any questions or need anything, we are available 24/7.
A lot of the reason we decided to offer this space came from our love of good food and our enjoyment in preparing it, sharing it and serving it to friends. You can always count on something leagues ahead of highway fare and way more memorable. We sit down to dinner together, farm table style. All meals are chef's choice but, so far, we have been successful in matching guests' special needs.
The extra cost of meals is all inclusive: waters, breads, appys, main and dessert. The cost is always fair and far less than you would expect to pay at a decent restaurant. A glass of wine or a craft beer is usually included in our dinners.
IIf you arrive extra early or stay two nights, we can set up an extra charge special cooking class - shared meal preparation with you. We have done a "make you own pizza!" night many times with guests. For many years we have been hosting in-house group classes using themes from everywhere in the world. Ask what experience we can offer you.
Dining here is not a requirement but, if you count food as part of life's pleasures, you will always have something to score (plus or minus) instead of forgetting when you leave.
