The entry to this beautiful, quaint, wine-country villa was clean and inviting. The house was spacious with all the amenities that we could ask for: wifi, Apple TV, Bose ipod player, windows overlooking open space and patio. The furniture was comfortable and with a casual elegance that made the home feel familiar. The location was quiet and private. A perfect get away place.
The reservation was canceled 83 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This house was phenomenal. It is extremely spacious, very clean and stocked beyond belief. There are glass looking plastic ware, so you don't have to worry about breaking dishes by the pool and even Cuisinart pots and pans, which were decent to use. The beds were comfortable. The house has a million windows, so light comes in from everywhere. The pool was the perfect temperature for the mid 80s weather we had, though could use a bit of cleaning. The two gas fireplaces make for cozy chatter time in the evenings when it does cool down substantially.
The location of the house is really close to the square, so groceries are a breeze to pick up. A couple of us walked from the house past Buena Vista vineyards and through Bartholamew Park for a woodsy walk.
Tom was very friendly and extremely responsive. He sent out a website of recommendations quite a bit beforehand when I asked. We thought we couldn't get into the house (one gal arrived before the rest and couldn't figure out the lock situation), and at first I was concerned when he wasn't responding, but then I was able to get us right into the house and he contacted us back as soon as he saw we had been attempting to get ahold of him (he was out of the country).
Tom even left a DELICIOUS bottle of wine for us ladies. I would LOVE to stay at this house again and hope to next year.
We really enjoyed staying at Tom's place. The pool was beautiful and the location cannot be beaten for access local wineries.
We absolutely loved our stay here. Our family included my 75 year old father in law and 7 month old daughter... and everyone had a great time. The house is beautiful, nicely porportioned and the gardens are chock full of interesting and colorful plants (not to mention grapes!).
Tom has thought of everything. The house is stocked with anything you could want, including linens, ample kitchen amenities, pool toys, games, etc. A binder full of restaurant, grocery, winery recommendations is included as well as instructions on how to use any appliance and entertainment feature. Tom even helped me find a birthday cake with a great bakery recommendation.
I really can't say enough about how nice our stay was -- except that we hope to come back soon.
Our own private villa. Perfect. Host thought of everything -- from welcome bottle of wine to robes on the bed, beach towels. He also checked in with us to make sure we got inside ok. Very nice. Our girls gourmet weekend was fantastic. We couldn't ask for better. We will definitely come back.
After completing the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, my family and I retreated up to Tom's house for a nice winery vacation getaway. It was above and beyond one of the nicest homes I've stayed in, equipped with anything and everything you can ever need. We ended up staying in more than going out because cooking meals as a family in his beautiful kitchen was one of the best parts. We also spent some time relaxing by the pool or walking the property to admire the landscaping.
If you have a trip planned to the Sonoma/Napa area - I could not more strongly recommend his home. He also has a great book that outlines his best recommendations (which we took advantage of many) from wineries to restaurants. The Whole Foods was perfect for coffee and meals and I strongly recommend Buena Vista Winery close by. If you can get Janice - she knows how to put on a great tasting so much that my Nebraska born and raised parents, joined the Buena Vista Wine Club. I look forward to my next Napa Valley trip and plan to see if Tom's place is open
