We absolutely loved our stay here. Our family included my 75 year old father in law and 7 month old daughter... and everyone had a great time. The house is beautiful, nicely porportioned and the gardens are chock full of interesting and colorful plants (not to mention grapes!).
Tom has thought of everything. The house is stocked with anything you could want, including linens, ample kitchen amenities, pool toys, games, etc. A binder full of restaurant, grocery, winery recommendations is included as well as instructions on how to use any appliance and entertainment feature. Tom even helped me find a birthday cake with a great bakery recommendation.
I really can't say enough about how nice our stay was -- except that we hope to come back soon.
Our own private villa. Perfect. Host thought of everything -- from welcome bottle of wine to robes on the bed, beach towels. He also checked in with us to make sure we got inside ok. Very nice. Our girls gourmet weekend was fantastic. We couldn't ask for better. We will definitely come back.
After completing the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, my family and I retreated up to Tom's house for a nice winery vacation getaway. It was above and beyond one of the nicest homes I've stayed in, equipped with anything and everything you can ever need. We ended up staying in more than going out because cooking meals as a family in his beautiful kitchen was one of the best parts. We also spent some time relaxing by the pool or walking the property to admire the landscaping.
If you have a trip planned to the Sonoma/Napa area - I could not more strongly recommend his home. He also has a great book that outlines his best recommendations (which we took advantage of many) from wineries to restaurants. The Whole Foods was perfect for coffee and meals and I strongly recommend Buena Vista Winery close by. If you can get Janice - she knows how to put on a great tasting so much that my Nebraska born and raised parents, joined the Buena Vista Wine Club. I look forward to my next Napa Valley trip and plan to see if Tom's place is open
From the initial contact, one can tell that Tom has experience being the consummate host of an amazing property tucked away in one of the most convenient locations to downtown Sonoma!
After booking, Tom sent an email with details instructions of how to access the home, including tips on the local coffeeshop with Blue Bottle! As others had noted, the house is nothing short of amazing -- and the photos actually do not do it justice! Immediately, one can tell that the house is taken care of immaculately and has plenty of stay-in options from a Viking kitchen to an outdoor grill and heater (for those chilly Sonoma nights) to a hot tub/pool area to the indoor fireplaces (yes, plural!). It was nice to imagine that the property's vineyard was your own for a weekend getaway!
The bride-to-be and I were able to go on morning runs and the nearby scenery is gorgeous, with plenty of friendly neighbors walking their dogs! Not only was Blue Bottle coffee a short walk, but Whole Foods was 10 min drive away. We were able to enjoy a fabulous brunch at The Girl and the Fig downtown.
I definitely recommend a weekend at the Sonoma Hideaway!
The host canceled my reservation 45 days before arrival.
We really enjoyed our stay at your beautiful home.
We enjoyed the outdoors, the grill, the wine and the spacious kitchen! It was a perfect setting for the celebration of my husband's 65th with all his favorite things.....family, food, wine and the country side.
