About This Listing
Nestled on the side of Butternut Mountain, this cozy home is private and peaceful - offering beautiful views, gardens, birds, a running stream and is within walking distance of the Long Trail. 5 minutes from Johnson State College, 7 minutes to a sweet little yoga studio and a good coffee shop, 30 minutes from Stowe and 20 minutes to Smuggler's Notch.
THE BASIC RENTAL IS ONE GUEST BEDROOM WITH A FULL SIZE BED, PRIVATE BATHROOM BUT SHARED SHOWER, FOR ONE OR TWO PEOPLE, MAX.
If you are more than 2, I am willing to discuss renting out the master bedroom with private half bath and tub (you can find this under the listing "Green Mountain Sanctuary 2"), another room with a blow up mattress, and possibly the whole house.
My home is my sanctuary and I like to share that experience with others. I have WiFi and good reception for Verizon Wireless. Please plan on using WiFi for e-mail and searching, not watching movies of shows, as I have limited data. If this is important we could arrange for an additional feel ). I have a TV but it is only set up for movies and the "fireplace" listed is actually a windowed woodstove (so you still get to see the fire :-))
I love animals and, after 12 years without one, have just adopted a sweet, smart, short-haired cat from a friend. She's an independent one but always available for attention, if available!
As this is my home and MY sanctuary as well, I ask that you treat it with care and respect. Only slippers, socks or bare feet in the house please - I have white rugs and hardwood floors.
You are welcome to use the fridge and, if I am here, the stove.
I don't "serve breakfast" but you can usually count on tea, coffee, fruit and toast, again, as long as I am here.
I appreciate quiet between 10-ish and 7 but I am usually up before my guests, anyway.
Looking forward to meeting you!
My first Air BnB experience was most certainly a pleasant one. Lisa is an exceptional host, very friendly and accommodating. Lisa's house was easy to navigate to and was peacefully quiet. It felt like home away from home. When I am ever back in Vermont and need a place I will hope Lisa's house is available again as I would most definitely enjoy to stay here again.
Lisa was a wonderful host! As I was arriving after dark and the roads weren't well marked, she met me a few miles away on the highway and led the way. The next morning she drove me around, which was perfect.
Meeting Lisa was like meeting an old friend: immediate rapport and comfort.
The room and house were spotless, the view was lovely, and the use of the kitchen was exactly what I needed.
The town of Johnson has a a great mixture of bucolic atmosphere (thanks to the surrounding mountains) and artistic culture (thanks to the aesthetically charged ex-pats and Vermont Studio Center). Lisa's clean and sunny house is an excellent place to enjoy it from, because it's just three miles and change uphill from town and less than a mile from the woodlands (and a section of Long Trail ridge) at the end of the road. And Lisa herself is totally personable and great -- bucolic and cultured just like the town. I hope to return!
Lisa was a wonderful host. Her place is really beautiful and we felt very lucky to have booked her place.
Lisa is a fantastic host. Her home truly is a sanctuary and we immediately felt comfortable there. The room was darling and has fantastic views of Whiteface and Stowe. The bed is so comfortable we didn't want to get up each morning! The house is very clean and full of personality. Lisa gave us great recommendations for local restaurants and music. We skied at smuggs both Saturday and Sunday- despite very cold weather. We can't wait to come back and stay for spring skiing and snowshoeing! Thank you Lisa!!!!
A quality welcome. A very quiet place, very restful. Lisa is welcoming and smiling personn. I recommend this place.
Though she wasn't there when we arrived, Lisa left a very warm welcome for us after a long drive from Toronto, and Angel (her cat) was more than happy to follow us around and help us get acquainted with the space. We had the opportunity to connect with her over the next few days during our stay, and she is a very open and gracious host. We felt like family very quickly and would gladly have stayed longer were it not for our other travel plans.
Her house was very charming - tucked away in the hillside above Johnson, and a relatively short drive from other towns and attractions (Stowe, Burlington, etc). Everything was as described - bedroom clean and cozy, with a wood burning stove to keep warm in the living room. The ground also seemed nice - though it being winter we couldn't take advantage of nearby trails and the garden. We hope to be back again one day!

About the Host, Lisa
I am a life and business coach, and design workshops using combinations of coaching, movement, painting and nature as reflection to facilitate greater self-awareness and well-being.
I love my little piece of heaven, making things beautiful and creating inviting spaces for people.
Although I have no animals of my own at the moment, all creatures - wild and domesticated - take up the majority of real estate in my heart.
I am warm and friendly, and appreciate silence and solitude. I like celebrating and being peaceful.
I like working, dance, music, asking the big questions, and innovative thinking.
What I am most interested in is how to develop deep, loving relationships with ourselves so we can more easily express our gifts and make our contribution to the evolution of the planet, and Life itself. Sounds lofty but I'm just as happy discussing it over a fabulous meal and great wine!
