The Space

Nestled on the side of Butternut Mountain, this cozy home is private and peaceful - offering beautiful views, gardens, birds, a running stream and is within walking distance of the Long Trail. 5 minutes from Johnson State College, 7 minutes to a sweet little yoga studio and a good coffee shop, 30 minutes from Stowe and 20 minutes to Smuggler's Notch.

If you are more than 2, I am willing to discuss renting out the master bedroom with private half bath and tub (you can find this under the listing "Green Mountain Sanctuary 2"), another room with a blow up mattress, and possibly the whole house.

My home is my sanctuary and I like to share that experience with others. I have WiFi and good reception for Verizon Wireless. I have a TV but it is only set up for movies and the "fireplace listed is actually a windowed woodstove (so you still get to see the fire :_))

I love animals and, after 12 years without one, have just adopted a sweet, smart, short-haired cat from a friend. If you have a well-behaved dog who likes cats, let's discuss. (Unfortunately Angel would not take kindly to another cat).
There will be a nominal charge.

  • Lisa was a warm a warm and friendly host who made us feel completely at home. Her house is surrounded by amazing gardens and lush Vermont forest providing for the peace and quiet we were looking for. It is a perfect location for a weekend of hiking and fishing with easy access to Johnson, Smuggler's Notch and Stowe. The house is well kept, very clean and the bedroom has a comfortable bed and great views. Lisa was kind enough to show us around her neighborhood which included amazing horses and farm fresh eggs. She also gave us great tips on local eats and hiking trails. We couldn't have asked for a better host!

  • I had an absolutely lovely experience at Green Mountain Sanctuary. Coming from Boston, this quiet and beautiful place was just what I needed to relax and unwind. The setting, not too far from Johnson State College and also Vermont Studio Center, is pristine, yet has easy access to some great little bistros, and is within a half hour of Stowe with all of its hiking, biking, and cultural activities. Lisa was a joy, and she and I had much in common, so of course that added another layer of pleasure for me.

  • This was exactly what I needed and a wonderful addition to an already wonderful month at the Vermont Studio Center. Lisa is a friendly, easy going, and gracious hostess and I can't imagine a more comfortable place to stay. Loved Loved Loved every minute of it. Thanks!!
    All my Best,
P.S. Please give a squeeze to your furry friend for me, missing her already.

  • Lisa made me feel welcome from the moment that we started exchanging emails for the reservation. This impression was confirmed upon our arrival, when she took time to show us around the house and orient us to nearby restaurants - inspite of having other engagements that evening.

Lisa's home is cozy and welcoming, with a wonderful view to the valley & mountains nearby. We also had a fabulous experience visiting a nearby horse farm (website hidden).

I already know that I will come back! Vraiment un endroit charmant que je recommande sans hésitations.

  • My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of staying with Lisa over the long weekend in February. I would highly recommend staying with Lisa as she has a beautiful home tucked away in the hills just outside of Johnson. Lisa was a great host and made sure we were comfortable in her home. We felt we had great privacy while staying there while enjoying the warmth of Lisa and her friendliness which made the stay all the more better. When we come back to Vermont we will certainly stay with Lisa again.

  • We had the pleasure of staying at Lisa's home for 1 night during our visit to Vermont. Unfortunately Lisa had to head out of town unexpectedly,so we never had a chance to meet, but she was a very attentive and welcoming host, even from a distance. She made us feel very comfortable in her space. We look forward to returning and hopefully meeting Lisa on a future trip!

  • To re-energize, away from city hustle and bustle, think Johnson, Vt and consider a couple of days at Lisa Buell’s place. Lisa is a perfect host, her place is cozy and warm and the surroundings are picture perfect. Mountains in the background, great walks and hiking. Five stars without any hesitation!

Life/business coach and Expressive Arts Facilitator
I am a life and business coach, and design workshops using combinations of coaching, movement, painting and nature as reflection to facilitate greater self-awareness and well-being. I love my little piece of heaven, making things beautiful and creating inviting spaces for people. Although I have no animals of my own at the moment, all creatures - wild and domesticated - take up the majority of real estate in my heart. I am warm and friendly, and appreciate silence and solitude. I like celebrating and being peaceful. I like working, dance, music, asking the big questions, and innovative thinking. What I am most interested in is how to develop deep, loving relationships with ourselves so we can more easily express our gifts and make our contribution to the evolution of the planet, and Life itself. Sounds lofty but I'm just as happy discussing it over a fabulous meal and great wine!
