The room and house were as listed: clean and spacious and in a good, quiet neighborhood. Very good value for money.
The bus rides in/out of Manhattan weren't a huge issue, but sometimes the very bad traffic means that it could take about half an hour to get to times square, not 10 mins.
The place is ok and clean. Unfortunately we didn't meet the hosts. I would recommend to stay in a New York neighbourhood, since they're all connected by subways. From New Jersey a ferry (expensive) or a bus (could take a while) are your only options.
Had a lovely stay in Union City/ New York. As this was my first visit to New York, Gabby son Robert was very welcoming and helpful too! The apartment was very clean and was in a quiet neighborhood. Make sure that you take the chicken run into the city as it is so cheap and reliable. Enjoy!
New York ist natürlich grandios.
This room suited our needs perfectly. We were going to be at the Javits Convention Center for our stay and this location was perfect to get to the bus into the city. We walked right up the street about 3 blocks to the bus stop that took us straight through the tunnel to Port Authority. About 20/25 minutes total from door to door.
The room, and the whole house really, was nice and clean. Could tell the house could use some paint and a few repairs, but overall was in good condition. The beds and linens were very comfortable. We appreciated having an air conditioner in the room too.
Gaby was very nice. We had to meet up last minute to get the parking pass since we decided we were driving and she was very accommodating. A medical emergency forced us to have to leave earlier than expected, but overall the experience was positive. I would stay again if I needed to be in the area.
I only met Gaby and she was really nice. I was traveling with my mom and after a long day of traveling we couldn't find the key where she said it was; it was no big deal-we knocked on her door and she got the key for us and walked us over the the room herself. She was very nice and gave us transportation tips and some tips on which restaurants to go to in the city. The room was clean, as was the bathroom and the kitchen/living room. Keep in mind they rent 2 other properties in the same house so we shared those spaces with a few other people.
The place is a little rough to get to from LaGuardia Airport if you have a lot of luggage like we did! It is just a couple different modes of transportation and it took about an hour and a half. It was easy to get into the city; we took a $3 "chicken bus" ride into the city each day and took the public buses back. Be prepared to walk a little bit to get to the busses. Overall we had a nice stay here and I would stay with Gaby again.
