We have one room with a big comfy queen-size bed to rent in a beautiful sunny Wallingford home - two large closets, and a private bathroom. The house has a huge solarium, gourmet kitchen, large deck, beautiful backyard, views over Lake Union east to the Cascade Mountains, and to downtown Seattle. We are centrally located to everything, one block off the Burke-Gilman biking trail, 3 blocks to buses downtown (15 minutes), a mile from the UW, and a mile from Fremont.
We are a shared house of three: Michael, Jessica and Bryan. We all share the upstairs and have flexible work schedules that allow us to regularly have meals together which our guests are welcome to join as possible. Michael owns and manages two yoga studios and a dance/event venue. Jessica works with autistic children and Bryan works as a care-giver for disabled people. We all enjoy music, conversation, good food and have happy and positive outlooks.
We look forward to meeting you!
As a guest you have access to your room, a private bathroom and the entire first floor which has a large kitchen/dining room, living/music room, solarium and deck with great views. You can use the washer dryer and can have space in the fridge. There is plenty of street parking if you drive and we even offer airport pickup and/or drop off for a small fee. We also have bicycles that guests can use.
Interaction with Guests
We encourage interaction as much as you would like -- we are a very friendly and social household. If you are looking for privacy we can also accommodate. Michael has just started to offer body-work, something he has been doing for 30 years. His specialty is yoga-based body movement and massage with an emphasis on healing chronic pain.
We live in a gem of a neighborhood and on a really beautiful and safe street with lots of friendly neighbors. The views, even from the street are magnificent -- downtown, lakes, mountains -- really the best Seattle has to offer. There is plenty of street parking.
There are bus stops within a couple blocks that can take you downtown, to UW, Capitol Hill, etc. We are also one block from the very convenient Burke-Gilman bike path and one block from a public kayak/boat launch and yes, we have a two-person kayak and bicycles!
Other Things to Note
Michael has just started to offer body-work for guests. This is something he has been doing successfully for 30 years. His specialty is in dealing with chronic pain through a yoga-based technique that employs movement and deep massage.
We are a 'scent free' house. Please do not use colognes or perfumes. We generally do not wear shoes in the house.
Michael made me feel totally welcome in his home. It's in a beautiful location which is, indeed, close to everything. Fantastic experience staying with him in Seattle. Highly recommended.
I had an awesome stay at Michael's big and sunny house, for a second (website hidden)-visited again this wonderful corner of Fremont, with a nice view of marina. Slept like a baby in the heated waterbed, enjoyed many amenities including private bathroom, convenient kitchen and washer/drier right there. Will definitely stay again next time!
We enjoyed our stay with Michael in The Big Sunny House even if the weather was not so sunny. Our room was comfortable and clean and we enjoyed many pleasant interactions with Michael and his housemates. Communication before and during our visit was great. We felt very welcome in Michael's home. Sue and John
Michael is a very gracious host. You will definitely feel welcome at his home. I chose it based on location (which is close to UW, and being in Wallingford can't be beat) but was rewarded with a clean room with bathroom, and great hospitality. Don't forget to take in the view of the Seattle skyline from Gasworks Park, just a couple blocks away from Michael's home.
This was the perfect home for the weekend. Michael is a terrific host and he and the house mates are really kind, and inspirational people. It was a truly wonderful. The place is clean and welcoming with a great view from the bright sun room is of the water and a huge bridge and the city behind that. The neigborhood felt very safe and walkable and it was easy to get to Fremont area and also to down to from this location.
As a first time user of Airbnb, I did not know much about what to expect. I was only looking for a nice, clean, comfortable and quiet place to spend for a few days. I found all that in addition to a super friendly host who also introduced me to some of his also warm and friendly friends, and made me feel at home.
It was a wonderful experience!
Hi, I'm Michael. I have been living in this wonderful house for the past four years and love sharing it with airbnb guests! I own two yoga studios and a large event hall that is just a couple minutes from the house. I mostly work from home though I go to my studios Yogalilfe and hall Omculture very regularly.
I'm quiet and clean and share the upper floor with two great housemates. We all are part of a dance community that dances at OmCulture regularly. We are mostly vegetarian but I still like some chicken or fish now and again.
We have no pets but are very kid friendly. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
