We are located on the main road between the small town of Las Lajas (2 km) and the Panamerican highway (2km). 500 mt from here, walking to the town of Las Lajas, there's a small drugstore. In the town there's are 2 supermarkets, an Italian Ice cream shop, a couple of local restaurants.
Going back to the Panamerican, 200 mt from here you will find 2 restaurants. After another 200 mt a small drugstore and before the cross on the highway there's a local restaurant.
In the cross ( cruce de San Felix) there's a supermarkets, the bus stop and office. 2 km up you'll reach the town of San Felix where there's a hospital, a clinic and a pharmacy. Then you'll find some local restaurants, 2 atms and some shops.
On the beach (10 minutes by car) there are some restaurants, a small resort that offer daypass and a diving center.
There are many cheap taxis in the area! They charge about 1 $ pp to move around Las Lajas and San Felix towns. Just stop them on the way.
To the beach is 5-6 $ each way.
Until now no buses go to the beach, so we offer the shuttle service(3 $ each way).
Erika and Fabio were super gracious hosts. The cabin was clean and looked just like the pictures. It was hotter and drier than normal so they gave us an extra fan to use to cool off at night. We slept so well. Breakfast was very nice too. I highly recommend staying here and would again myself. Thank you Erika and Fabio.
THERE IS NO A/C. It's not included on the amenities, but I overlooked that and we spent a rough, humid night with barely 4 hours sleep total. There is no real address (no exact street addresses anywhere in Panama) so make sure you have a reliable GPS and passable Spanish. Their house is about a ten minute drive beyond a checkpoint where National Guard asked us (only in Spanish) for our passports, destination, etc.
Erica was waiting for us when we arrived and showed us to the separate bungalow. It's cute, relatively clean, and has a wonderful view of the valley. We watched a beautiful sunrise. There are plenty of large bugs around (in the room, which I expected) but if you're squeamish, don't chance it. WiFi worked well. A couple friendly dogs roamed the property and barked during the night. A horse was outside the fence when we got back from the beach (cool). Erica served us coffee, fruit smoothies, toast, and her own mango preserves for a light and delicious breakfast. Go to Nelly's for dinner/drinks on the beach and Chiricream for dessert.
Erika & Fabio were perfect hosts. Very friendly and helpful.
The bungalow is really beautiful and has a perfect view.
We can highly recommend this place.
The glass bottle cottage was so unique, and very pleasant to stay in! The hosts made us feel very welcome and made sure we had everything we needed. The large fan kept us cool as we drifted off to sleep. The breakfast included homemade peanut butter and jam on toast, fresh fruit, and homemade cashew juice made from the fruit not the nut.
This airbnb cottage is very convenient to Highway 1, at a good place to stop for the night as you are heading across the country. It is a very good value, with kind, helpful hosts, a delicious breakfast, and a one of kind lodging experience! Highly recommended!
Wer in Las lajas halt macht, sollte beides unbedingt ausprobieren!
Frühstück ist inklusive, auch wenn es klein ausfällt, ist es mit liebe gemacht und es gibt jeden morgen ein nettes Extra- wie frische Säfte und Obst.
We were travelling between Panama City & Bocas Del Toro. Las Lajas Is a perfect place for stoping 1 day like us, or more because the house is very original, the view on the landscape with a lot of birds very Nice, it looks like Normandie with mountains in the back, Erika is very kind, we have seen Fabio only a few minutes, and there is a long and quiet beach a few kilometers from the house, the opposite of Playa Bianca (high buildings and gates forbiding you to go to the beach). A too short stay for us but a big need to come back.
Thank you Erika & Fabio
