We have two Yurts that are the size of studio apartments. They are round, 24 ft across and have clear dome tops for star viewing that open up for night air. Each Yurt is fully furnished with a bed, futon couch, chairs, dressers, end tables and lamps. Adjacent to the Yurts is a separate Bathhouse with two showers, toilets, and a double vanity on each side - one side for each Yurt. We are a totally unique property as we are a private homestead ranch in-holding WITHIN the San Juan Nat'l Forest

The space
The ranch is at 9600 feet elevation and is located adjacent to Jersey Jim Lookout Tower near the top of a mountain. We are ten miles inside the National Forest and fifteen miles from the closest town (Mancos, Co). Our vistas are spectacular and wildlife abounds. In the summer we often have a resident elk herd on the ranch for a period of time.

I looked for over ten years to find a one-of-a-kind property in Colorado, and this is it. The Double R Ranch is a 160 acre property located near the top of a mountain and situated WITHIN the 2 million acre San Juan National Forest. I have spent the last eight years building out the ranch. Our season runs from May to December. We are considering opening up in the winter to snowmobilers and cross-country skiers but that hasn't happened yet. The sun shines 340 days out of the year i Colorado but we do get seasonal rain in July, normally, but it is usually short-lived during the day.
