This Cozy Park County A-frame is your perfect remote Colorado getaway location. This is not a four star resort but more like your favorite old sweater, this cabin has a calming and comforting feel to it and a peacefulness you won’t find anywhere else.

The space
The cabin is located on 5 acres on a hillside with panoramic mountain views, awesome star gazing, and is moments away from National Forest hiking, fishing, and frequent wildlife sightings. Centrally located this a-frame is 30 miles from Breckenridge, 32 miles from Buena Vista and is steps from BLM land. The cabin is heated by a wood burning stove (we include firewood), has a full kitchen and bath, and because we believe you should never leave a furry friend behind we are pet friendly. We have included guide books for the area and a list of our favorite local trails and can email you a list of our favorite kid friendly activities if requested. Our hope is to create a place where you can getaway for a moment, recharge, and reconnect.

Check-in time is 3:00. Check-out time is 10:00 AM. We may be able to accommodate different check-in / check-out times depending on availability.

Flushing anything but pee, poop or toilet paper is the surest way to ruin your stay and incur a fee. You'll back up the septic system, which could have really foul consequences. Please also avoid washing large quantities of food down the sink. The minimum charge to clear a septic clog is $300.

The cabin's water source is our own well. The water is perfectly safe to drink. We have also provided a water filter pitcher for guests to use.

Park County frequently has burning bans in order to prevent wildfires. To avoid any confusion, any kind of outdoor fires or burning are strictly prohibited at our cabin. Any violation of this rule is very dangerous and will result in penalties.

The cabin has a very narrow spiral staircase leading to the bedrooms upstairs. By booking the cabin you are acknowledging that you are capable of using narrow stairs and assume any liability for the use of the stairs.

The land surrounding our cabin is home to a vast array of wildlife. Elk, coyotes, foxes, and hawks have been seen around here. Supervise your children and pets closely.

Amplified music is not allowed anywhere on the deck or in the yard.

As the registered guest, you're required to share this information with others in your party and take responsibility for any damage(s) they might incur during your stay.

The cabin is at 9,500 feet above sea level. Please be aware of the effects of altitude, including the possibility of altitude sickness and other effects including dehydration and the possibility that the effect of consuming alcoholic beverages may be different then what you expect at a lower altitude.

The cabin is on 5 acres and has plenty of parking available. Please do not park to the right of the cabin or near the garage because the septic system is in that area. We will charge a fee if the septic system is damaged by being parked on.

The garage is strictly off-limits to guests. There is a motorhome parked on the property. The owner’s vehicles are off limits to guests.

We have a security camera mounted on the front side of the home, and a security camera on the back side of the home. You will be recorded as you come and go. There are no cameras inside the home.

Dogs are allowed on the property. We do not charge pet fees. Please note that our property does not have a fence. You are responsible for keeping your pets on our property and under control. We are accessible year-round. Our cabin is located on a county road that gets plowed when there's snow, but we still recommend AWD with good tire tread in the snowy months (generally December to April). Winter driving conditions on the highways leading to the cabin can change in very short amounts of time. We recommend checking the conditions before you start driving our way and plan accordingly. Colorado has some specific winter driving laws pertaining to tire requirements. The fine for violating the traction law is pretty expensive so we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the law before driving during the winter.

During the winter the weather gets very cold. The cabin has electric baseboard heat which will prevent the cabin from becoming dangerously cold, but the primary heat source is a wood burning stove. We provide firewood and fat sticks fire starter for the stove. Please do not burn anything else in the stove. The stove gets very hot when in use. Do not place anything on or near the stove. By using the stove you are accepting all liability for your safety and the safety of your children, pets, and belongings.

During the early spring the runoff from snow melting can make our road very muddy. We recommend not driving a low clearance vehicle during the spring months.

Our cabin is located in a rural area. Depending on your cell phone carrier service may be limited or not available.

The cabin has wifi, but because of the rural area we are serviced by a wireless internet service provider. This means speeds can vary greatly and are sometimes very slow. The internet is usually capable of regular browsing and streaming video. The cabin has a TV with Netflix and the ability to use ChromeCast as long as the internet is working.
